America's automotive market revealed its priorities in Q3: Pickups dominated as usual in Q3 with 759,235 trucks sold (25.13% of market) with Americans spending $42B in three months on vehicles averaging $55K. The F-Series, Silverado, Sierra, and Ram captured 69% of truck volume from just four nameplates.
Ford dominated the list with its F-Series truck with a sizeable lead over second place Silverado. Toyota was the top automaker on the list taking five of the fifteen spots. Nissan grabbed two slots, and Tesla grabbed two if you believe their “estimates” since the electric vehicle maker doesn’t report actual sales.
