WELL...., bad first.
--Sale took extra time because our salesman was juggling THREE customers at the same time. He was very personable, but that's asking too much. We were first in line, but 2nd folks' car got detailed and left the lot quite a bit before us. We even had to wait 20+ minutes for HIM to go gas up the car, which was on empty.
--OTHER issue were scratches in the paint on the right side. We have a dark maroon car, so the scratches didn't show up until under the NIGHTTimE lights (since we were there so late!) So they said we could come back in the morning to have their guy buff them out. 2 things...we had to abandon our "points" hotel in west Houston ($68 worth of points) and get a closer hotel in Baytown so we could meet their buffing guy at 9am the next morning. Then we had to sit around for 1.5hrs. while it got done. THEN when we got to our home garage, with better lighting, we saw more scratches on the front windshield post. Passenger side, same as other scratches. Apparently the car got scratched in transit? So salesman said just bring it by. Well, we live about 2 hrs away. Not good. Not sure how this could have been seen unless a special paint light in their shop? Anyway, leaves a sour taste in our mouthgs for Baytown Hyundai.
--We agreed to an "out the door" price based on good faith estimates of taxes and fees. When we got the final paperwork that has to be signed to leave, and analyzed it at home, We found that taxes and fees were $3xx.xx less than what they'd quoted. So they had to fudge some #'s to get our final cash payments to work. Not happy. I trusted their estimate document the salesman was working from.
THE GOOD: salesman was personable, responded quickly, even a late text I didn't think he'd see until next day. He was accommodating with test drive and showing vehicle.
HOPING/THINKING we got as good a deal as we could. Hard to find that Maroon color with gray interior in SEL.

Working with Baytown Hyundai to purchase my wife's new Palisade was an Excellent buying experience. From the politeness of the Gm Jarryd, non-pushiness of the finance manager Ray to the helpfulness of the salesman Adrian it was a great example of what a car buying experience should be. Adrian spent ample time walking my wife through the different trim levels to which she is overjoyed with the Limited she chose. Seeing my wife happy again after her recent bout of Ovarian cancer (now in remission) makes this purchase a decision I'm glad we made.

I have debated a about this review because I take some responsibility for the outcome. My problem was I panicked and added the extended warranty because it was a hybrid. I called 2 weeks later and cancelled the warranty. Never heard back and left numerous messages with no response. Finally I did get in touch with another finance guy and he would make sure Ray would contact me. He did the next day by phone and said he would cancel. The cost was added to my car loan and still have not received a refund.

I filled out my car pro form and within a few minutes Adrian Fontenot texed me. We discussed a car on the web site and set an appointment to visit. The Santa Fe seemed to be what I needed and he had it ready to view. It was a short visit, I had to leave. The next day was his off day but he came in to accommodate my return visit. He thoroughly went over all the details of the car with me. Took extra time to make certain I understood everything. There was no, gotta check with manager, no hassle, just straight forward price. It was my first purchase in about 7 years. Was driving a Ford Fusion 227,000 miles! The dealership is under construction, but it wasn't too bad. Would love to see it all finished!! Britt was very responsive, worked with us to find a Palisade in this difficult market, and was totally transparent in the pricing. This was in contrast to a few other dealers we spoke with, who were not nearly as responsive or reasonable. It took a couple of months to get the Palisade we wanted, but we were happy with the outcome. It was another great Car Pro experience.

Sent a message Baytown Hyundai on Monday Dec. 6th and Britt responded. Worked with him on my concerns and the vehicle we were looking at for my wife. He check their incoming list and had a Palisade pretty much like we wanted coming in. He was straight up with his pricing and offered a sight unseen price for out trade in and gave me a drive out price. He corresponded with me not leaving anything for granted. One week later he delivered the Palisade to us which was a 1.5 hour drive from their location. He went over the cockpit details with my wife in a none hurried fashion even though it was already getting late and he had to drive back to their location with our trade in.

I don't have a lot of time, so being able to email back and forth with Adrian at Baytown Hyundai really helped me get the information I needed. I started out getting pricing on a Santa Cruz, then switched to a Tucson. Adrian was very professional throughout the process. He did not have a white Tucson in his stock, and he went to get one from another dealership! He was super nice to work with. He was very organized and had everything ready for me when I went to the dealership on Saturday morning. An all-around 5 star car buying experience!

As a stay at home wife to a man that works many hours and volunteers for a non-profit organization that doesn't have time to go car shopping, it is up to me to get it done. In the past I have been to dilerships that would not want to deal with me because my husband isn't there. I started listening to car pro many years ago and decided to give car pro dealerships a thr and I have been extremely happy with all of them. Everyone at Baytown Hyundai was very welcoming and friendly. The experience was great and when it was time for my husband to come in to do the paperwork it was fast and easy. I will never not use car pro dealerships again.

Britt Childress was so knowledgeable and patient showing me the high tech controls. And this is the first time I actually enjoyed my time in the finance office with Ray Funk. Our experience was good and the sales team was very knowledgeable and helpful and their inventory is great.
We were not able to purchase a vehicle because they said they could not buy out another dealers lease. This makes no sense to me. Since this is not a law it is just collusion between the car manufacturers usibg covid as an excuse. The customer no longer is in control of a deal.
