2025 Lexus LX 600 Luxury Review

Written By: Amy Plemons | Sep 5, 2025 10:11:13 AM

This week I bring you the gorgeous in green 2025 Lexus LX 600. Lexus' luxurious flagship SUV that seats up to seven gets a few new standard features for 2025, along with a new 700h hybrid variant and Overtrail grade. This is the gas-only three-row Luxury.

Exterior

What a commanding presence on the road.  The LX looks elegant and stylish, too, in Nori Green Pearl hue set against striking 22-in forged alloy wheels with a machined finish.

The standard LX luxury has a silver front grille - but I am all about this model's Appearance Package with its matte gray grille, black chrome finished window and bumper trim, black outside mirrors and door handles.

It also adds dark gray roof rails. Standard exterior features include Triple-Beam LED headlamps, LED foglamps, illuminated running boards, auto door closer, headlamp washers and a blade taillamp.

Performance

What a powertrain!  A 3.4-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission produces 409 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque.  Power is just fantastic - and remember the LX is a serious off-roader, too. It's equipped with Full-Time four-wheel drive with electronic locking center differential and Adaptive Variable Suspension. Features also include Active Height Control, Crawl Control with Turn Assist and Multi-Terrain Select.

Interior

Wow, I absolutely love the Palomino semi-aniline leather and Brown Open-Pore Wood trim interior in my test vehicle.  Lexus always does wood accents extremely well. There's a overall great mix of color and textures in here.. The door panels feature wood, leather and high-quality switchgear.

The 10-way power driver's seat is designed for comfort with just the right amount of cushion and side bolstering. The head rests are super cushiony, too. The leather-and wood-trimmed steering wheel is beautifully done. A fully digital 12.3-inch drive display has a smaller font than I'd like, but it's bright with nice graphics.

I am personally a fan of the LX's double screen set-up.  Up top, you find the infotainment touchscreen that's not over-the-top large at 12.3-inches.  The multimedia system is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, houses the navigation system, has an intelligent assistant that responds to "Hey Lexus", and runs the fantastic 25-speaker Mark Levinson surround system.

Beneath it, a second 7-inch touchscreen vehicle info display is encased in what I can only describe as a huge center stack command center.  It's where you find the climate control screen with other vehicle info like throttle inputs, vehicle tilt, drive mode selection and more.

While technology is terrific in here,  Lexus knew better than to alienate tech-averse owners by throwing all the car's control functions into the infotainment system. It's mix of tech and traditional will please a lot of people, with plenty of physical controls in here for things like the heated and ventilated seats, heating steering wheel and so on.

Wood on a large portion of the center console is such a breath of fresh air when so many center consoles are glossy black these days.  A large vertical wireless charging pad takes up a good chunk of space on the console -  with a gear shift ahead of it.  There are also two large cupholders and controls for the LX's lift and off-road functions.  The cushiony center console bin opens to reveal an always nice to have Cool Box, which came in handy for my Topo Chico.

A roomy 60/40 split second-row seat features reclining bench seats and a nicely tailored drop-down center armrest with hidden cupholders and storage.  Passengers get their own digital climate controls and heated and ventilated outboard seats along with two USB-C ports, a USB, and manual rear sunshades.

The Luxury features one-touch auto-arrange power-folding seats as well as reclining, power-fold 3rd row seats - such a wonderful convenience.  As far as roominess, kids will be A-OK in the third row, but it's not big enough for adults.

Cargo area is cavernous as you'd expect with the third row down. Even with it up I was able to haul some plants home. The Luxury is also equipped with a power rear door with kick sensor.

Other standard cabin features include a moonroof, a total of 6 USB ports, thematic lighting, illuminated door sills, and a digital rearview mirror.

Options

Options include the fantastic Appearance Package for $1,295, roof cross bars for $450, wheel locks for $99, front skid plate for $795, tow adaptor for $17, and dual Rear-Seat Entertainment System with 11.4-inch screens for $2,705.

Safety

New for 2025, Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is now standard across the lineup. It's a great suite of driver assistance features.  Wow, does Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control work great in stop-and-go highway traffic, even bringing you to a complete stop, before speeding up again when sensors pick up the car in front of you starting to move again. It's a great semi-autonomous driving system, but you are warned to keep your hands on the wheel.

Other standard safety includes Front Cross-Traffic Alert,  Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic, Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, Panoramic View Monitor and Multi-Terrain View Monitor and a newly standard Head-up Display.

Ride and Drive

Not to be too repetitive, but I cannot say enough about the LX's power.  It's just fantastic. The ride is also super smooth thanks to an incredibly comfortable adaptive suspension. It is so quiet in here, too.  You'll find yourself towering over nearly ever other vehicle on the road - except for perhaps pickups with ridiculously high lifts. Its ground clearance gives you a commanding view of the road with fantastic visibility.

Verdict

If you have six figures to spend on a new vehicle, and you need a large SUV, you should definitely consider the luxurious, powerful, and extremely capable LX.
