If you are a fan of Baja racing, you know the name Bill Stroppe. He was a legendary off-road racer and builder who helped put the Ford Bronco on the map by leading it to multiple Baja 1000 victories in the late 1960s and early ’70s. Known as the “Godfather of Off-Road Racing,” he built high-performance Broncos that cemented the SUV’s desert-racing legacy. His partnership with Ford made the Bronco an icon far beyond everyday trails. Although he passed away in 1975, he lives on in the 2025 Ford Bronco Stroppe Edition.
This Bronco pays tribute to the legendary Baja Broncos that Stroppe built in the early 1970s, carrying forward their bold style and racing spirit into a modern package. Like the originals, it wears a distinctive multi-color body and exclusive Stroppe badging while backing up the looks with serious off-road gear, including advanced suspension, locking differentials, and 35-inch tires. Limited in production, it channels the exclusivity and desert-racing heritage of the classic Stroppe Baja Broncos, only now with today’s technology, comfort, and capability baked in. It is important to note, the Stroppe Edition is only available in a 2-door version, just like the Broncos Bill raced over 55 years ago.
Exterior
Right off the bat, the colors grab you. The Stroppe Edition starts as a solid color Oxford White. Then Ford adds Code Orange from just above the door handles to the bottom of the Bronco and continues into the front and rear.

Then a Matte Black wrap is applied to the hood as well as the tailgate. And if that is not enough, an Atlas Blue removable hardtop is added. It is topped off with a white Stroppe Edition badge on the front fenders, then higher up toward the rear, Bronco is spelled out in Code Orange. The front grill is white with orange Bronco lettering and orange tow hooks under the steel bumper, and heavy-duty skid plates. I know it sounds like a mess, even as I am writing this, but somehow it works and it’s super-cool.

This beauty features 17” Matte Black wheels and massive 35” Goodyear R/T all-terrain tires and huge removable color-matched fender flares. There are also removable running boards you’ll likely use when not off-roading and when removed, there are rock rails underneath for even more protection.
Rounding out the back view, a large matching spare tire and wheel, a black, not blue oval Ford logo (that’s a first for me), orange tow hooks under the bumper, and more skid plating.
Performance
Under the flat black hood, the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Edition features a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 that delivers 330-horsepower and 410 pound feet of torque. It’s paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission and full time four wheel drive, giving it strong low end pull and smooth highway manners. The engine’s design blends modern turbo technology with a rugged block, offering a balance of power, efficiency, and capability that fits the Bronco’s heritage. It even sounds good.
Interior
Open the door to reveal a very good-looking interior. The dash is bright white from one side to the other and in front of the passenger in orange it says Bronco.

The Stroppe’s seats are trimmed in durable and easy to clean vinyl with orange contrast stitching and embroidered Stroppe badging, giving them a mix of ruggedness and upscale flair. I’d have sworn the seats were leather just by looking. The front passenger area feels wide and functional, with supportive bolstering, easy-to-reach controls, and a design that balances classic Bronco toughness with modern comfort. Both front seats are manually operated, and the seats are heated, but not air conditioned.

As you get comfortable in the large driver’s seat, you will see a 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster, replacing the old analog setup and offering a mix of configurable readouts like speedometer, tachometer, inclinometer, and more—designed to get all the info you need with modern clarity and flexibility. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather with metal-look accents and even includes heating—so it feels both refined and rugged.
Center dash, the Bronco comes equipped with a large 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen infotainment system that lets you navigate, stream music, and connect wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all with intuitive swipe and voice control. It’s complemented by navigation, FordPass Connect, SiriusXM 360L, and a premium 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with subwoofer that sounds amazing.

Above the screen on top of the dash are your differential setting buttons, which you need to configure if you do any serious off-roading. You can lock in the front and/or rear differentials and also release the front stability bar if you get yourself in a real bind when off the pavement. You can also turn off the traction control, but I can’t imagine why you ever would.

The center console area is quite busy. There are cup holders, automatic temperature controls, the start/stop defeat button, and a button to turn on the many different camera angles. There is a Stroppe Edition badge on the console. This is also where you change the GOAT modes. The Bronco’s G.O.A.T. modes, short for Goes Over Any Terrain, lets you dial in the SUV’s performance for different conditions with a simple turn of the dial. You can switch between settings like Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Baja, and Rock Crawl, with each one automatically adjusting the throttle, transmission shifts, traction control, and four-wheel-drive system so the Bronco is always set up for whatever surface you’re tackling. Up high, there are pre-wired upfitter switches for all your added equipment such as a winch and additional exterior lighting.
Just below the armrest are the power window and power outside mirror buttons. Although it seems like a funny spot for them, the doors come off, so with the buttons in the console, there are no wires to disconnect. In a brilliant move, the exterior mirrors are attached to the body, so when you take the doors off, the mirrors are still usable. Score one for Ford, when you take the doors off a Wrangler, the mirrors are gone. However, unlike Wrangler, the windshield cannot be folded down.

The back seat features a 50/50 split-folding bench that folds forward for easy access or extra cargo space, complete with MOLLE storage straps on the front seat backs for gear. Although compact, the back area offers rear cupholders, under-seat air and heat ducts, and USB charging ports tucked into the back of the center console for rear-seat comfort and functionality. Getting into the back seat is a little challenging for adults, but kids will be fine.
Utility
Moving to the cargo area, you swing open the tailgate from the left side, then raise the back glass. The cargo area has 22.4 cubic feet of cargo area with the rear seats up, but if you lower the second-row seats, it increases to 52.3 cubic feet. The rear seats are easy to fold down, but do not fold completely flat, but it’s close.

Let’s talk about configuring the Bronco. You can take both doors off, the running boards, the fender flares, and the entire hardtop comes off, albeit it will take two people and it is not a quick operation. Most people will just remove two panels over the front seats to soak in the sun, not unlike T-Tops, and there is one larger panel over the second row seats. Although more complicated, you can remove the rest of the top. It would be a task but can be done. The Bronco comes with all the tools needed to go completely topless and also has covers for the tops.
Standard Features
The Bronco Stroppe Edition comes standard with the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control with under-seat ducts, a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, FordPass Connect, SiriusXM 360L, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with subwoofer, a digital gauge cluster, auxiliary upfitter switches, removable hardtop panels, rock rails with integrated steps, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and unique Stroppe graphics and badging. It also includes convenience features like push-button start, remote keyless entry, multiple USB ports, and a 360-degree camera, and a forward facing camera. My tester has no optional equipment.
Off-Road Equipment
Perhaps the best part of this off-roader can’t be seen, and that’s the serious off-road hardware, carrying over in the spirit of Bill Stroppe’s Baja-winning Broncos with modern packaging. It comes with the HOSS 3.0 suspension featuring Fox internal bypass shocks for control and durability, along with front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting sway bar, and full-time four-wheel drive.

Its 35-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires, 11.5 inches of ground clearance, and ability to operate in over 33 inches of water, give it the chops to handle mud, rocks, sand, and just about anything else the trail throws at it. Add in the Bronco’s G.O.A.T. modes that adjust throttle, transmission, and traction settings automatically, and the Stroppe Edition proves it isn’t just a great daily driver sure to attract attention, it’s a fully capable off-road beast.
MSRP and MPG
Fuel economy is rated at 17 city, 18 highway, and 18 combined. MSRP as equipped is $77,685 as equipped.
Ride and Drive
Driving the Stroppe in town, it feels solid and composed, with the suspension soaking up bumps better than you’d expect from such a trail-focused SUV. The steering is direct, the ride is firm but comfortable, and it cruises confidently at highway speeds without losing that rugged, go-anywhere character. Interior noise was much better than I remembered in previous Broncos I have reviewed.
Verdict
Overall, this is truly an enjoyable SUV and if Ford sticks to only building 1,966 of these, it is likely a good investment if you can get one.
