This week I bring you a stylish, tech-packed all-electric luxury sedan: the all-new 2025 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron.. I reviewed the sportier S6 e-tron variant last fall. Both make a compelling case for going all-electric with their wow-worthy technology, advanced lighting tech and cool features. Updates are coming in 2027, and I'll share some of those with you below.
Exterior
With its low-slung, sleek profile, it's no surprise to learn that the A6/S6 e-trons are the most aerodynamic EVs within the Audi line-up. I love the looks of the A6 Sportback in Plasma Blue metallic paint paired with 20-inch aero-design bicolor-finish wheels.

Its front end design is appealing with a body-colored grille surrounded by a black mask which integrates the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) sensors and the air intakes. And the black inserts on the profile? They designate where the battery is located. The tail end sports a rear diffuser and illuminated four-ring Audi logo.

The Prestige package features Audi's phenomenal lighting technology: LED headlights with 8 digital lighting signatures, slim digital daytime running lights and LED taillights. Prestige exterior features also include headlight washers and soft closing doors.

Perfomance
The all-electric A6 is equipped with a dual-motor single-speed transmission that delivers 456-horsepower when equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive, versus the S6's 543 horses with launch control. Audi cites a 0-60 time of 4.3 sec, vs the S6's 3.7. Equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive and you'll get a terrific 333-miles of range
Interior
The A6 Prestige's roomy interior bedazzles with its trifecta of vibrant displays, Pearl Beige leather seats, and natural wood inlays on the dash and door panels. Build quality is impeccable. Like in the S6, a dynamic interaction LED light strip stretches across the dash just underneath the windshield. It changes colors depending on vehicle functions and will pulse when charging.

Leather power heated and ventilated front seats are crafted for supportive comfort. A leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel has paddle shifters for regenerative braking. (Step up to the S6 e-tron for Nappa Leather and a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel.)
Audi calls its two OLED screen set up a "Digital Stage". It consists of a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit instrument display and a 14.5-inch center MMI touchscreen. An optional 10.9 inch passenger display gives you three front-row screens in all. The 11.9-inch digital driver's display delivers outstanding resolution, color, incredible graphics and bright, bold text. The 14.5-inch MMI configurable touchscreen follows suit with brilliantly colorful graphics. Both screens are among the most advanced I've ever seen and Audi's map quality remains a favorite.
Audi's current MMI system (due to be all-new in 2027) already features fast processing times, Audi's Voice Assistant, and handwriting recognition. It's how you'll control the climate functions. Apps include Beach Buggy Racing 2 you can play when parked. Audio is also on point with the Prestige's 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system complete with headrest speakers.
There is heavy use of glossy black on the center console - a touch of natural wood would I think be a welcome design addition and cut down on smudges and lint. A shift-by-wire transmission is easy to operate. Front-row tech also includes 2 USB-C ports and a fairly hidden and hard to get to wireless charging pad in the console bin.

Above, a wonderful panoramic glass roof with switchable transparency offers variable light control. Note, there is no power sunshade.
Tailored craftsmanship continues in the fold-flat second row where you find heated rear seats with wonderful headrests, a drop-down center armrest with small cupholders, mesh seat back pockets and 2 USB-C ports. The middle seat would also easily accommodate a fifth passenger.

When you open the trunk, you'll definitely be impressed with its substantial cargo space thanks to fastback design. You get a bit of storage space in the "frunk" under the hood, but not much.
Other standard Prestige features include three-zone climate and illuminated door sills with S Logo.
Charging/Range
The days of range anxiety in an all-electric Audi are over. The A6 e-tron Quattro yields an EPA-estimated 333-miles of range on a full charge. An available ultra package boosts it to 392 miles.
Charging times are where they need to be, too. The A6/S6 Sportback e-tron with its 800-volt charging technology and 94.4 net kWh battery offers a 10-80% DC fast charging in as little as 21 mins.

There are charging ports on each side which you can open via the MMI system. But neither is an integrated Tesla-style NACS charging port. However, as of last Sept. Audi says NACS adaptors were included as a port-installed accessory for 2025 A6/S6 models.
Regen Braking
When it comes to advanced recuperation (regenerative braking), you get a few options: one pedal driving, two-stage steering wheel paddle recuperation, and a "B" Driving mode which basically puts you into automatic single pedal driving model for the strongest recuperation deceleration. Too many choices? Simply select auto regen to let the vehicle do all the decision making.
Safety
Audi's driver assistance features are exemplary. Standard A6 e-tron driver assistance features include Active Front Assist, Audi Side Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Front Cross-Traffic Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, Rear Turn Assist, Exit Warning, and Front and Rear Parking Sensors. Rear occupant detection, fatigue warning and distraction warning controls are all accessible through the multimedia system.
The Prestige adds a Top View Camera system, Adaptive Cruise Control and Road Sign Recognition, as well as a Augmented Reality Head-Up Display with fantastic graphics including navigation data and turn signal indicators.
Park Assist Plus
The Prestige's remote parking feature is notably impressive. In the 2025 S6 I was able to reverse into a parking space using it.
Ride and Drive
I like the weight of this sedan, and as a daily driver, the A6 e-tron delivers an enjoyable ride and drive. Acceleration - while not lighting fast - is quick, smooth and effortless. Handling is more on the easy-going side than the slightly sportier S6. Ride comfort in Balanced and Comfort drive modes is fantastic thanks to optional Adaptive Variable Suspension that handles potholes with ease. When you select Dynamic, the suspension automatically drops for a "sportier" experience. Audi offers a lot of driving customization within the MMI system.
Options and What You'll Pay
Options as tested include Plasma Blue paint ($595), Warm Weather Package ($1,150) and the feature-packed Prestige Package ($6,300). As equipped, the MSRP is just north of $77,000, roughly $10K less than the sportier 2025 S6 Sportback I reviewed earlier this year.
Verdict
The all-new Audi A6 e-tron's sleek design, great range and wow-worthy technology make going all-electric ever-so appealing. If you're looking for a bit more performance and engaging steering, I'd spend the extra money to upgrade to the S6.
What's New for 2027
Something else to keep in mind, Audi's just shared extensive updates for the 2027 Audi A6/S6 e-tron lineup. New for 2027: all-new MMI technology, an updated steering-wheel, the availability of an all-new Audi dashcam, updated one-pedal braking, a new "Power Nap" mode for use during charging sessions and three-year/30,000-mile (whichever occurs first) Audi Signature Care scheduled maintenance included.
