What’s Known About The All-New 2027 Chevrolet Silverado

Written By: CarPro | Jun 25, 2026 7:59:33 PM

An all-new 2027 Chevrolet Silverado is expected to hit the road later this year. The redesigned full-size pickup will offer new powertrains, significantly upgraded technology, enhanced off-road capability, and a more premium interior throughout the lineup.

According to Chevrolet, the new Silverado was developed using extensive customer feedback and is designed to improve capability, comfort, technology, and efficiency while maintaining the durability and functionality truck buyers expect.

The 2027 Silverado lineup consists of Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, ZR2, High Country, and the all-new ZR2 Bison. Chevrolet says the new Silverado trim replaces the previous LT model and serves as a core retail offering in the lineup.

From the outside, the Silverado receives a more aggressive appearance with a larger grille, revised lighting, new body sculpting, and a stronger overall stance. Chevrolet says the truck's design improves both visual presence and functionality, while giving each trim level a distinct personality.

Inside, the Silverado receives one of the most extensive cabin upgrades in the truck's history. Every 2027 Silverado comes standard with a 16.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.2-inch digital driver information center. According to Chevrolet, the larger displays provide improved usability and create a more modern cockpit experience across the entire lineup.

Higher trim levels, including the ZR2 and High Country, add an 11.5-inch passenger-side display, giving occupants access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information. Chevrolet says these models offer more than 60 inches of total digital screen area. A head-up display and digital rearview mirror are also available on upper trims.

The High Country model moves further into luxury territory with premium materials, authentic wood trim, upgraded seating surfaces, and the first panoramic sunroof ever offered in a Silverado. Chevrolet says the goal was to create a truck that combines capability with the comfort and refinement expected in a premium vehicle.

Under the hood, Chevrolet is introducing two new sixth-generation Small Block V8 engines. The current 5.3-liter V8 is replaced by a new 5.7-liter V8, while the previous 6.2-liter V8 gives way to a new 6.6-liter V8. Chevrolet says both engines deliver increased torque, improved efficiency, and lower emissions while maintaining the characteristics truck owners expect from a traditional V8 powerplant. Final horsepower, torque, towing, and payload specifications will be announced closer to launch.

Returning to the lineup are the 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder and the 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six turbo diesel. Chevrolet says both engines have been updated and refined for the new generation. Every engine in the Silverado lineup is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Off-road capability receives major attention for 2027. Chevrolet says every four-wheel-drive Silverado now comes standard with the Z71 off-road package, which includes upgraded suspension tuning, skid plates, and hill-descent control.

The Trail Boss models continue as Chevrolet's dedicated off-road trucks and feature a two-inch suspension lift, off-road suspension components, and 34-inch mud-terrain tires. The Custom Trail Boss offers similar hardware for buyers seeking off-road capability at a lower price point.

For serious off-road enthusiasts, the Silverado ZR2 raises the bar with a two-inch lift, 35-inch tires, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and Multimatic DSSV dampers. Chevrolet says the truck was engineered to tackle challenging terrain while maintaining excellent on-road manners.

Joining the lineup for the first time is the Silverado ZR2 Bison, developed in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles. The Bison adds heavy-duty steel bumpers, reinforced skid plates, beadlock-capable wheels, and additional underbody protection designed for extreme off-road use.

Technology remains a major focus throughout the lineup. Chevrolet's latest Super Cruise system will be available on select models, and Chevrolet says Silverado remains the only pickup capable of hands-free trailering using Super Cruise on compatible roads. Advanced trailering technologies, driver-assistance systems, and connectivity features have also been expanded.

Chevrolet has not yet announced pricing for the 2027 Silverado, but the company says the truck will arrive in dealerships before the end of 2026. Additional details, including complete specifications, capability ratings, and pricing information, will be released closer to launch.

For Chevrolet, the redesigned Silverado represents far more than a styling update. With new V8 engines, a dramatically upgraded interior, expanded technology, enhanced off-road capability, and a broader range of trim levels, the 2027 Silverado is positioned to compete aggressively in America's most important vehicle segment.
