Q:  What is a Plug-In Hybrid and is it worth the extra cost?

A plug-in hybrid is a standard hybrid vehicle with a bigger battery, charging port and cable used to plug into the electric grid. They're worth the extra cost if you want all-electric range suitable for short commutes, have a home charger, and enjoy typically better performance. I'd stick to the standard hybrid if your daily commute roundtrip is farther than the range on just electric otherwise you won't likely recoup the upfront expense.
