Q:  What  Is A Good Down Payment For a Car?

Well, that depends on whether you're buying new, used or leasing. Typically, you'll want to try to make a down payment of at least 20 percent on a new car and at least 10 percent if you're buying used.  Keep in mind, putting as much down as you can cuts down on interest charges and lowers the monthly payment. However, if you're leasing, a minimal down payment is best. While a down payment can lower lease payments, it does not help build equity at lease-end.
