**GM 6.2-LITER V8s STOP SALE**
CRASH RISK
We talked about this on the Car Pro Show last Saturday. General Motors has announced a recall affecting certain 2021–2024 models equipped with the 6.2-liter L87 V8 engine, citing potential manufacturing defects that could lead to engine damage or failure. The recall includes the Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV.
A stop-sale order is also in place, meaning any affected vehicles still in dealership inventory cannot be sold, delivered, or used for test drives until they are inspected and repaired.

The issue:
The recall stems from possible defects involving the engine’s connecting rod and/or crankshaft, which could cause loss of propulsion, major engine damage, or total engine failure.

Investigation background:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) launched an investigation after receiving reports of engine failures, prompting GM’s recall action.
Dealer responsibilities:
Dealers will inspect engines on affected vehicles. If a defect is found, the engine will either be repaired or replaced.
