If you're thinking about buying an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid, but aren't quite sure how to navigate government regulations and EV incentives, Toyota is offering some help via a new online tool for car shoppers.
Toyota Launches New EV Incentive Finder
Toyota says its new Toyota EV Incentive Finder, powered by EV Life, is designed to make finding federal, state and even municipality incentives much simpler. The automaker says EV Life’s proprietary “Incentives Engine" will give customers a list of potential incentives from among more than 470+ available EV tax credits, rebates, and other benefits like HOV carpool decals and toll discounts.

To use the search engine, you'll need to enter your personal data including your location, household size and income, tax filing details, electric utility provider and more into the tool. Within seconds the tool generates a quote for potential incentive packages, based on EV Life's 20-plus data points across every zip code in the country.

Best of all, they can access the tool on Toyota.com via their phone, home computer, or while at a Toyota dealership."

Toyota says the search engine will also offer potential pre-purchase and post-purchase incentives (like a Federal EV Charger Tax Credit) and decipher which ones may apply to a customer's unique details. Along with calculating potential rebates and incentives, the tool will also calculate how much in average maintenance costs you'll save each year and how much you'll save on your gas bill.
