New research is providing insight into the most popular car models across America. It comes via Car Mat Customs, which shared its new analysis with us revealing the most sought-after vehicles across all 50 states. Car Mat Customs says Google Keyword Planner search volume data was analyzed for 175 keywords across 50 states, with each state's "most popular" determined by the keyword with the highest average monthly search volume.
Here are big takeaways:
- California's affinity for electric vehicles is evident, with the Tesla Model Y topping the search charts at a staggering 135,000 monthly searches.
- The Ford F-150 demonstrates widespread popularity, particularly in Texas, where it leads with 74,000 searches, highlighting the state's enduring love for pickups.
- The Honda Civic captures attention across multiple states, notably in Illinois with 33,100 searches, indicating a consistent preference for compact cars in urban areas.
Car Mats Customs says the Tesla Model Y's dominance in California underscores the state's shift towards electric vehicles. "The level of interest in the Tesla Model Y in California suggests a growing demand for electric vehicles, which aligns with the state's environmental initiatives," said Karsten Kiilerich, CEO of Car Mats Customs.
The Ford F-150 maintains its stronghold in several states, dominating the vast plains, particularly in Texas, reflecting the state's affinity for rugged, practical vehicles.
Karsten continued, "What stands out is how many people in Texas are searching for the Ford F-150. This points to the truck's continued relevance and popularity in states where utility vehicles are essential."
In contrast, the Honda Civic emerges as a favorite in urbanized states such as New Jersey and Illinois. "The Honda Civic's popularity across diverse states like Illinois and New Jersey indicates a broad appeal for reliable and fuel-efficient sedans," said Karsten.
Car Mats Customs notes that the Toyota RAV4 garners interest in states like Alaska and Colorado, suggesting a preference for versatile SUVs in areas with diverse terrains.
