We are always extremely proud when we win awards for the work we do on the Car Pro Show. It is humbling and makes all the hard work seem well worth it. Annually, The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) of which Amy Plemons and I are both members, gives awards for the Excellence In Craft Competition. Automotive journalists submit their works and independent judges-not affiliated with TAWA-choose first, second, and third place in each of six categories. The categories are:
- Writing
- Radio & Podcast
- Video
- Photography
- Social Media
- TAWA Event Coverage
Submission deadline was July 15th, 2025, and the winners were announced at the Texas Truck Rodeo held last Thursday and Friday. TAWA describes the competition as: "WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE OUTSTANDING WORK OF OUR MEMBERS WITH AN ANNUAL COMPETITION DESIGNED TO RECOGNIZE TAWA MEMBERS' EXCELLENCE IN AUTOMOBILE JOURNALISM."
Car Pro Shows Wins 1st Place for Radio/Podcast
This year, when all the entries were in, I am proud to say that the Car Pro Show took first place for the Radio/Podcast category. If my count is correct, this is the 6th time the show has taken first place in this category, along with numerous 2nd and 3rd place victories through the years.
In the judges’ comments on why the Car Pro Show was chosen for first place, he or she said:
“Informative, high-level guest, to the point, and offers an insight into car companies that most people don’t get,” the judge said about Jerry’s winning entry.”
The submission that won the radio category was titled: Interview with Mark Truby-Ford Chief Communications Officer. This was an interview I did with Mr. Truby, after I wrote an open letter to Ford CEO Jim Farley questioning why Ford was going so heavily into electric vehicle manufacturing. If you missed that interview, you can listen to it at the link above or by clicking here.
Amy Plemons Wins Writing Award

Car Pro Show producer and car reviewer Amy Plemons walked away with a 3rd place finish for her excellent review of the beautiful 2024 Genesis G70 Sport Prestige. She did the review in August, 2024.
You can see Amy’s excellent work here.
“We are proud to be members of the Texas Auto Writers Association, an esteemed group of automotive journalists that are held in high regard by the automakers and the public in general," said Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds. "Taking two big awards was a surprise to be honest, but we are proud to have earned and received each one of them. We’ll continue to try to bring you the best radio show, car reviews, newsletter, and automotive news we possibly can. We know that without you, the audience and followers, that none of this would be possible. So, we humbly accept these awards on your behalf and offer a heartfelt thanks to each of you.”
