Mecum Auctions is back in Dallas this week for the 13th year, and if it's anything like last year's event it's going to be one for the record books. (The 2022 auction brought in a record-setting $55.2 million in sales.)
An estimated 1,500 vehicles are expected to cross the block at Mecum Dallas 2023. The event kicked off Wednesday and runs through Saturday at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Vehicles slated for auction include American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, exotics, Hot Rods, customs.
Allen Collection
The Allen Collection features a variety of mostly late-model high performance machines including two Ford GTs, one black 2006 example with only 8,617 miles and wearing silver stripes, and the other a red 2005 GT with just 3,571 miles on its odometer and wearing white stripes.

The collection also includes a 2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition that's one of 225 Heritage Editions built to commemorate the 1967 GT500. It's powered by a 5.2L/760 HP supercharged V-8 engine and a Tremec 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The collection also features a 222-mile 2009 Dodge Viper ACR propelled by an 8.4L/600 HP V-10 engine and 6-speed manual transmission.
The Jack Murphy Collection
Offered at no reserve, the 10 lots comprising The Jack Murphy Collection range from a highly original, black 1964 Imperial Crown and a 1961 Chrysler 300G with a 413 CI V-8 engine and automatic pushbutton transmission, to a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS presented in the esteemed Rosso Corsa, powered by a 2.9L V-8 engine and 5-speed gated manual transmission, and showing 37,888 on its odometer.
The Don Johnson Collection
The Don Johnson Collection offers seven vehicles and nearly 200 pieces of Road Art, with all of the Road Art offered at no reserve.

Among the vehicles consigned are a custom-built 1934 Dodge Hot Rod Pickup known as “Hot and Pink,” a 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup with striking two-tone silver and charcoal paint, and a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe with just 18,459 miles on the odometer, powered by a 327/300 HP V-8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission.
Road Art from the collection includes items ranging from soda memorabilia to clocks and oil cans, including several outstanding gas pumps, such as a restored Phillips 66 Tokheim Model 850 Clock Face Gas Pump.

The 1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback Shelby No. 5S443, is powered by a matching-numbers HiPo 289/306 HP V-8 engine and matching-numbers aluminum case T10 4-speed manual transmission.
1969 Chevrolet Berger COPO Camaro RS
A 1969 Chevrolet Berger COPO Camaro RS is one of an estimated 58 COPO Camaros built with the RS package and is equipped with the COPO 9561 L72 427/425 HP V-8 engine and COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion Package.
