Q: How Long Do Hybrid Car Batteries Last?

Hybrid battery lifespan is a concern for many folks considering a hybrid vehicle. Hybrid batteries - which store and supply energy used to power a hybrid car's electric motor or motors - typically have manufacturer warranties lasting 8 or 10 years with mileage limits. Real-world experience suggests many last well beyond that. For example, many original Toyota Prius batteries remain in service after 15 to 20 years.
