Honda is receiving a big recognition from Wards Auto. The automaker's next-generation hybrid powertrain is among the 2023 "Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems" award winners. Wards Auto editors named the Honda Accord Hybrid to its list, with several judges comparing its "swift acceleration to that of an electric vehicle."
Honda's fourth-generation two-motor hybrid electric system produces 204 horsepower. It also makes the most powerful Accord yet thanks to its 247 lb.-ft of torque. Honda says the two-motor hybrid-electric power unit features two larger and more powerful electric motors that are now mounted side-by-side, rather than in-line as in previous generations.

Note, while its award status is based on Accord Hybrid, you can find the same system in the new 2023 CR-V lineup as well. Honda says its hybrid powertrain, which accounts for more than 50% of both Accord and CR-V sales, maximizes efficiency without compromising dynamic performance or packaging. Honda CR-V Hybrid
