I’m not sure why this hits me as odd, but it does, especially considering Ford’s 2025 financial results. Some jokes just write themselves.- Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds
Ford President and CEO Jim Farley is adding another Fortune 500 company to his resume. Earlier this month, Farley was elected to the Board of Directors for the McDonald’s Corporation. Meanwhile, Farley will be exiting the board of Harley- Davidson. He was elected to its board in 2021, but the company recently announced that Farley will not seek re-election to its board at its next shareholder meeting.
Farley, who still serves on Ford’s Board of Directors, becomes one of 12 board members for the Chicago-based fast-food giant.
“Jim brings invaluable experience balancing innovation with operational excellence, modernizing customer experience, engaging independent operators, and harnessing technology to improve systems at scale,” said Chris Kempczinski, Chairman and CEO of McDonald’s Corporation. “His leadership in optimizing a business today while building tomorrow will be useful as we continue to drive momentum across our business.”
When nominated, Farley called McDonalds a "values-driven, forward-looking company that leads by example all around the world" and one "that takes its responsibility to give back seriously." Upon being elected, he shared this statement:
“McDonald’s is one of the most admired and recognized brands in the world,” said Farley. “I’ve long respected how the company balances scale with local entrepreneurship and tradition with innovation. I’m honored to join their world-class values-based Board and look forward to contributing to McDonald’s next era of growth.”
McDonald's exes say its 12 board members each contribute diverse experience and expertise that strengthen its longterm strategic direction. Notably, half of McDonald’s directors have joined since 2022..
According to documents, McDonald’s Board members were compensated $220,000 to $360,000. Farley made $24.9 million dollars from Ford in 2024, the last year his compensation was reported.
