This January, the world will get its first look at the first-ever all-electric Chevrolet Silverado.  Chevrolet recently announced the pickup will make its global debut at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra will on hand to unveil the pickup during the opening keynote on January 5th, 2022.

Chevrolet says the new Silverado, based on GM's new Ultium Platform, is designed as an EV from the ground up. There are no power specs yet, but Chevy says it will deliver Silverado’s proven capability. It will offer an GM-estimated range of more than 400 miles on a full charge and the pickup will be offered in both fleet and retail versions.

The new Silverado EV pickup will also be the first GM full-size pickup to offer an available fixed-glass roof.  Chevrolet is also confirming the availability of Four-Wheel Steer, a chassis feature that enables the vehicle to steer all four wheels. Chevy says the system improves handling and stability at higher speeds, and helps you turn tight circles which helps when trailering.

This isn't the first time Chevy's used the CES platform to shine the spotlight on its new electric vehicles. Chevy introduced the 2017 Bolt EV at CES five years ago and in 2021, Chevrolet teased the new Bolt EUV at CES ahead of its formal debut.
