The wait is over for the all-new, trail-ready 2026 Honda Passport, the most powerful Passport yet! The lineup - which includes the TrailSport and first-ever TrailSport Elite trim - is now arriving in CarPro dealerships across the country. The next-generation Passport ups its capability game with a number of enhancements along with a more powerful engine and the lineup's first 10-speed automatic transmission. It also gets a design transformation both inside and out with bold new looks and a redesigned, roomier tech-filled cabin that nets more storage space.
"Passport plays a pivotal role in our Honda lineup, with the highest conquest rate of any Honda SUV and more buyers under-40 than key competitors in its segment," said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales. "We expect the authentic rugged design and off-road performance of the all-new 2026 Passport and Passport TrailSport to attract even more young, active, weekend adventurers to the Honda brand."
Honda designers also developed an extensive new line of available Passport cargo accessories with an overlanding focus.
Passport TrailSport, Elite Trims
TrailSport is the lineup's is the most rugged, off-road capable Honda SUV ever. That's thanks to a number of off-road enhancements including a unique off-road tuned suspension that features exclusive spring rates and damper valve tuning, expanded all-wheel drive capabilities, exposed bright orange heavy-duty recovery hooks and more. Optimized stabilizer bars improve articulation and off-road ride comfort.
The lineup introduces a new, first-ever TrailSport Elite trim. Both TrailSport models ride on new General Grabber all-terrain tires (275/60R18), co-developed exclusively with General Tire for the new TrailSport. Honda says they're extremely capable in sand, mud, rocky terrain and snow, yet are also quiet and comfortable on the road. Both models feature uniquely styled 18-inch wheels in exclusive finishes such as Matte Shark Gray and Dark Tinted Clearcoat with Gloss Black lug nuts. Honda says the wheels include protected sunken valve stems to avoid damage on the trail.
The TrailSport Elite Trim adds a bunch of premium goodies including perforated leather seating with piping, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear climate controls and door shades and smart entry, as well as a new 12-speaker Bose Centerpoint technology sound system.
TrailSport Blackout
A factory-installed Blackout Package ($1,200) is available on both TrailSport models, adding black 18-inch alloy wheels, black lug nuts and black Honda badges for an even more aggressive look.
Powertain
Honda says the 2026 Passport is sportier and more engaging to drive, whether it's on or off road. It's platform is also designed to give TrailSport true off-road capabilities. A crucial part of that engineering is greater structural stiffness, and thanks to a 72% increase in front lateral rigidity and a 50% increase in rear torsion rigidity, ride comfort, handling and overall refinement of the entire Passport lineup also benefit. Other improvements include lengthening the wheelbase which Honda says benefits ride comfort and straight-line stability, while significantly wider tracks improve cornering stability.
The lineup shares one engine - a new, more powerful 24-valve DOHC 3.5-liter V6. It produces 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The Passport also introduces its first 10-speed automatic transmission. Honda calls it refined and responsive, and says the new high-strength automatic transmission has been tuned exclusively for Passport. Paddle shifters are standard.
Cabin and Technology
The Passport features more standard tech than ever before. All three trims benefit from a 10.2-inch full digital driver instrumentation display, and a 54% larger center touchscreen (12.3-inch) plus Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Other cabin highlights include new Body Stabilizing power adjustable heated front seats. The RTL also comes equipped with leather-trimmed upholstery and a power tailgate.
Honda says the Passport offers more storage space in its new generation. Expanded storage space in the cabin includes two-tier door bins, a large multi-use tray ahead of the shifter that can accommodate two smartphones side-by-side, a massive console bin that fits a full-size tablet, and a clever passenger-side instrument panel shelf. There's not shortage of cupholders either -with 10 large cupholders located throughout the cabin.

The all-new 2026 Passport launches with the broadcast line of Genuine Honda Accessories ever created by Honda Engineers. Options include a variety of 18-inch wheels, an aluminum front scuff plate, robust rock sliders with stainless-steel plates, and a full-size spare all-terrain tire.
In addition, there's also an extensive new line of available cargo accessories with an overlanding focus.
