Order books are open now for the 2027 Dodge Charger which is celebrating its 60th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Dodge is introducing a first-ever, limited-run Purple Haze color that's exclusive to the 2027 Charger lineup. The paint option runs $795.
Dodge says stand-out new colors like Purple Haze matter more to muscle-car buyers. In the full-size car segment, color choice is nearly three times more important than the industry average. On Dodge Charger, the automaker says it’s a top-three purchase driver.
“We know Dodge muscle-car customers don’t just want to blend in, they want to stand out, just like Charger owners have since 1966,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “Purple Haze is more than a color, it cranks up 60 years of Charger attitude, delivering a bold, factory-exclusive statement that’s every bit as formidable as the performance behind it.”

Purple Haze is a high-gloss clearcoat paint that darkens into a rich, deep purple in the shade. Factory customization options include Fratzog dual stripes, 10 different Mopar stripes and graphics options, and a new-for-2027 Satin Black painted hood or a Satin Black hood patch for SIXPACK-powered models. In all, Dodge says it's added more than 25 new factory customization options for the 2027 model year.
Purple Haze is the latest in a long legacy of bold, attention-grabbing paint colors to adorn Dodge vehicles. First introduced in 1969, “High Impact” paint colors for vintage Dodge vehicles have become cult classics in the muscle-car world, their unique high-visibility hues impossible to ignore. From Go Mango to Sublime to Top Banana and many, many more, Dodge says the colors defined an era and helped cement muscle car culture. Purple has itself long been a signature color of Dodge muscle, from 1970s' Plum Crazy to more recent shades like In‑Violet and Hellraisin.
Purple Haze joins Bludicrous, Green Machine, Redeye, Sub-Zero, White Knuckle and Diamond Black as 2027 Charger exterior color options. New factory Mopar graphics include "Charger" blade stripes and dual stripes available in colors that include Gloss Red, Satin Black and Satin White.
New 2027 Charger lineup interior options include Petrol Blue Performance leather seats and Demonic Red seat belts.
2027 model-year Charger vehicles are expected to start arriving in dealerships in Q3 2026.
