As its name and looks suggests, it's not just any Viper.

The 2017 ACR VoooDoo II Edition commemorates 25 years of Viper production and the final model year of the fifth generation. The rare vehicle is expected to bring in over $275,000 at RM Sotheby's 2023 Amelia Island auction this coming Saturday, March 4th. Offered without reserve, its estimated selling price could go as high as $325,000 according to RM Sotheby's website.

The car offered is No. 29 of 31 VoooDoo II Editions produced during the Viper's last production year. It's finished in Black Venom paint with a graphite metallic strip and equipped with the Extreme Aero Package, ACR Package and ACR Interior Package.  RM Sotheby's says it was delivered new to Florida and had just 1,825 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloguing.   A car cover, tire inflator, and detachable cup holders also come with the car.

Viper ACR History

As RM Sotheby's shares in its listing, the original track-ready ACR debuted at SEMA in 2014.  The focus was significant performance enhancements over the standard Viper, and it shared the model's 8.4-liter V-10 engine that delivered an adrenaline-pumping 645-horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.

The ACR also marked the first time the Viper was fitted with a Brembo-built braking system that used carbon ceramic brake discs. An adjustable Bilstein suspension further improved handling and the car also rode on an exclusive ACR set of bespoke tires produced by Kumho.

A six-speed manual was the only transmission offered and it came equipped with a limited-slip differential to help manage power to the rear wheels.

2017 ACR VoooDoo II Edition

Dodge released the ACR VoooDoo II Edition to commemorate 25 years of Viper production and the final year of Viper production.  (Dodge Viper production ended by January 2018 and final production figures show just 585 United States-market chassis sold during the model’s last production year.)

The ACR VoooDoo II Edition is modeled after the original VoooDoo Edition released in 2010 and shares the exterior treatments of the original with Venom Black paint with a Graphite Metallic ACR driver strip and red tracer outline.

The Club Racer’s cabin is finished with silver accent stitching, black leather, and Alcantara.

As you'd imagine just by looking at one, the ACR Viper VoooDoo II Edition is all about aerodynamic performance. RM Sotheby's says it's equipped with an Extreme Aero Package designed to drastically increase the downforce thanks to a kit of removable aerodynamic devices fitted throughout the car. Up front, hood extractors and over-wheel-arch vents possess removable louver panels to relieve pressure. Two canards are fitted on each corner, and the carbon fiber splitter receives a detachable extension with support struts. You'll certainly notice the larger dual-element rear wing that sits higher and farther back than on the standard ACR. In addition, it features vented endplates and a unique Gurney flap. The six carbon fiber diffuser strakes on the underside of the vehicle receive polyethylene extensions that maintain contact with the ground, helping to seal the crucial air flowing beneath the car. RM Sotheby's says that combined, these elements are capable of producing 1,200 pounds of downforce at 150 mph.
