To all the Moms who listen to The Car Pro Show, and to everyone fortunate enough to still have their Mom in their life, this Sunday is your reminder—slow down, pick up the phone, make the visit, say the words.
Mother’s Day has a way of sneaking up on us. In the middle of busy lives, deadlines, ballgames, work, and everything else pulling us in a hundred directions, it’s easy to let it become just another date on the calendar. But it’s not. Not really.
Because when you stop and think about it, Mom is where it all started.
Before the first car you ever bought, before the first deal you ever made, before you figured out how the world works—or doesn’t—there was someone making sure you were ready for it. She didn’t hand you a manual. She didn’t give you a roadmap. She just showed up, day after day, doing the little things that somehow turned into everything.
For a lot of us, those lessons didn’t come in big speeches. They came in moments. In the way she treated people. In the way she handled tough times. In the quiet encouragement when you needed it most, and the honest correction when you probably didn’t want to hear it—but needed to.
I’ve said many times over the years that in this business, and in life, character matters. You don’t fake it very long. Sooner or later, who you are shows through. And if you’re lucky, a big part of who you are traces right back to her.
Some of you are celebrating this weekend with your Mom. Some are holding onto memories. Both matter. Both are powerful. And both deserve a moment of gratitude.
So today, we pause. Not for horsepower numbers or incentives or the latest headlines—but for something far more important.
A Very Special Tribute to a Very Special Mom
If there is happiness in my heart,
it's because you helped put it there.
If there is gentleness in my beliefs,
it's because you showed me how to care.
If there is understanding in my thinking,
it's because you shared your wisdom.
If there is a rainbow over my shoulder,
it's because of your outlook and your vision.
If there is a knowledge that I can reach out -
and I really can make some dreams come true -
it's because learned from the best teacher of all.
. . . I learned from you.
A mother's heart is a special place where children always have a home.
Food For Thought: Perhaps the best gift you can give your Mom is not flowers or gift, but instead just tell her how you feel about her. That’s what these people did and I think you’ll agree, it is compelling.
