The new study of 1-5 year old used car models finds that the average price to buy a used car is $34,227.  But the price can shift more than $6,000 ($,6173) between the most and least expensive U.S. cities.

The Cleveland-Akron area is the least expensive metro to buy a used car with an average price of $31,458, which is 8.1 percent below the national average. On the flip side, West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce has the most expensive used car prices with an average price of $37,632 which is 9.9 percent above the national average. See the list of Top 10 cities here.

As for vehicles, researchers say the Ram 1500 has the biggest price difference between the least and most expensive cities, costing $7,795 more in Denver than it does in Cleveland

The Chevrolet Malibu and Toyota Tacoma have the biggest percentage difference between the least and most expensive cities, with a more than 17 percent shift in how much a buyer can pay for these models

iSeeCars says it analyzed over 6.5 million used cars across the U.S. to compare the average prices in each of the 50 largest metro areas and discovered a wide spectrum of pricing among them.
