Say hello to the INEOS Grenadier! A new, rugged off-roading 4X4 'station wagon' that's now available in the U.S. at a select 19 INEOS retail partners around the country. For some quick fast facts: INEOS is itself a British brand, but the SUV is built at the former Mercedes-Benz facility in Hambach, France and has a BMW-built engine under the hood. Its North American team is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Overall, the Grenadier is likely to remind you of a cross between the Mercedes-Benz G Wagon and a Land Rover. Which makes sense given that INEOS Chairman, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who came up with the idea to build the world-class 4X4, is a fan of the old Land Rover Defender. To that end, INEOS Automotive says it's learned from the best off-roaders of the past and partnered with world-leading suppliers to design a truly world-class, off-road oriented 4X4 that’s comfortable, practical, durable and reliable.
The Grenadier is powered by a BMW inline-6 engine, box section ladder-frame chassis, permanent four-wheel-drive, up to three locking differentials and solid beam axles. The engine by the way also powers the Toyota Supra. It delivers 282-horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

Base, Grenadier Trialmaster and Fieldmaster Belstaff Editions
The new Grenadier five-seat Station Wagon (SUV) comes in three of them: Base, Fieldmaster and Trialmaster. And the pricing will certainly surprise you: The base starts from $71,500. The Grenadier Trialmaster and Grenadier Fieldmaster Editions – both from $79,190 – are pre-configured for either the professional or more occasional off-roader. They've both been curated with specific purposes in mind and are built to take on the outdoors.
INEOS says the standard Base model offers everything most users will need: peerless off-roading capability, refined on-road drivability, and a functional, modern, comfortable interior.
INEOS says it also offers two pre-configured vehicle editions that reflect Belstaff’s and INEOS Automotive’s shared philosophy for producing authentic, uncompromising products that are engineered to last. Creating premium outerwear since 1924, Belstaff - an INEOS brand - is known for its iconic waxed cotton jackets and its pioneering and progressive spirit.
Trialmaster Edition - Extreme Off Roading
If you're a passionate off-roader ready to tackle the toughest terrain, then you'll want the Trailmaster Edition. INEOS says it's been specified with extreme off-roading in mind. It is named after the iconic Belstaff Trialmaster Jacket, which was created in 1948 at the request of professional Trials biker and Irishman, Sammy Miller, and was designed to cope with the grueling conditions of the Scottish Six Days Trial.
Additional off-road equipment includes a Rough Pack, which adds electronically activated front and rear differential locks and the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Designed for both functionality and versatility, it's also equipped with an additional practical kit, including a raised air intake, exterior utility belts, and an auxiliary battery.
INEOS says it's the Grenadier for customers passionate about ambitious off-roading and tackling the toughest terrain on the most extreme expeditions.
Fieldmaster Edition - Accessible Outdoor Adventures
The Grenadier Fieldmaster Edition is named after the iconic Belstaff Fieldmaster Jacket, designed for life in the outdoors. It is specified for those with an adventure lifestyle who will use their vehicle to get them and their kit to wherever they want to go. It comes with a collection of comfort and convenience features that makes the Grenadier even easier to use in every situation. Highlights include Safari Windows, leather upholstery offered in two colorways, carpet floor mats and heated front seats. INEOS says whether towing a horsebox, hauling kayaks to the river, or going wild camping, the Grenadier Fieldmaster Edition makes outdoor adventures even more accessible.
Customization For All
Owners can also configure each trim to suit their own specific needs by adding a wide range of factory-fit options along with an extensive choice of accessories. Also INEOS' open-source approach means customers can affix existing kit, and pre-wired electrical access points on the Trialmaster Edition.
