Nissan is using the results from the latest Analytics Research in Traffic Safety study in its ProPILOT driver assistive technology. Nissan has 3 levels of ProPILOT. The ProPILOT Assist reacts to slowing traffic by helping to bring you to a complete stop. When traffic starts up again, it can get you back up to speed. It also uses cameras to recognize highway lane markers and keep the vehicle centered in the lane. The next level, ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link uses data from the vehicle's Door-to-Door Navigation System and adjusts the vehicle's speed ahead of curves and freeway exits, based on data about the route entered into the vehicle's navigation system. ProPILOT Assist 2.0 is the only Nissan version of assistive technology that allows for hands free driving on certain roads and conitions. ProPILOT Assist 2.0 is available on the all-electric 2023 Nissan Ariya. For more information on these and other vehicles, check out CarPro.com. With Today’s Auto News, I’m Laura Reynolds.
