I’m Laura Reynolds with CarPro.com.    The 2023 Toyota Highlander has a new gas engine with increased torque. This high-efficiency turbo gas engine reduces Nitric Oxide, Non-methane Organic Gas emissions by 50% while also reducing Carbon Dioxide emissions. The 265-horsepower, 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder uses balance shafts for a smooth performance and 310 pound-feet of torque. This is a 17% increase over the previous model year’s 3.5-liter V6 engine. Fuel efficiency has also improved to an EPA-estimate of up to 25 miles per gallon. The turbo models can tow up to 5,000 pounds and includes Trailer Sway Control which along with the Vehicle Stability Control helps control unwanted trailer movement. The new models are arriving in dealerships now. The 2023 Highlander has a starting MSRP of $36,420 and the 2023 Highlander Hybrid starts at $40,220.
