Mecum CEO On The Show; Win Tickets To Mecum Dallas/Fort Worth

Written by Jerry Reynolds | Oct 16, 2026, 2:12:56 PM

If your idea of a good time involves classic muscle cars, rare Ferraris and an auctioneer who barely stops to breathe, Mecum has four days of entertainment headed your way. Mecum’s Dallas/Fort Worth 2026 auction takes place Wednesday through Saturday, October 21–24, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. According to Mecum, approximately 1,500 vehicles are expected, with a lineup ranging from classic Corvettes and American muscle to pickups, SUVs, hot rods, customs and exotic sports cars. The public is welcome, so you can enjoy the spectacle without bringing home another vehicle—or explaining to your spouse why you did.

Before the bidding begins, Mecum CEO Dave Magers will join me on The Car Pro Show on Saturday, October 17. You can hear our conversation at 9:35 a.m. Central on the WBAP show and at 12:35 p.m. Central, which is 10:35 a.m. Pacific, on our nationally syndicated show. We’ll preview the auction and talk about what’s coming across the block.

For those attending, Dickies Arena is at 1911 Montgomery Street in Fort Worth. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day, with the Road Art auction scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. and the vehicle auction beginning at 10 a.m. Bidding continues until that day’s vehicles have crossed the block, rather than ending at a fixed evening hour. Mecum says gates close one hour after the final vehicle of the day. All of those times are Central.

Which cars could bring the biggest money? My watch list starts with the Ferraris, the winged Mopars and an early Shelby Mustang. These are potential headliners based on the featured lineup, rather than a ranking or dollar forecast supplied by Mecum. The bidders will settle the question, and auction predictions have a way of changing when two people decide they absolutely must own the same car.

TUNE IN SATURDAY October 17th! WE’LL have FOUR pairs of tickets to give away on the WBAP SHOW from 9-11 AM!

One modern exotic to watch is the 2022 Ferrari 812 GTS, scheduled for Saturday as Lot S162. Mecum lists 6,900 miles and a 6.5-liter V-12 producing 789 horsepower. Also scheduled Saturday is a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4, Lot S157, described by Mecum as one of 505 produced, with Pininfarina coachwork, a 340-horsepower V-12 and a five-speed manual transmission. Those two offer very different interpretations of Ferrari performance, separated by half a century.

American muscle collectors will want to watch the 1970 Plymouth Superbird, Lot S119, scheduled for Saturday. Mecum describes this TorRed example as one of 716 V-code Superbirds produced, with a matching-numbers 440 Six-Pack V-8, matching-numbers four-speed transmission and a broadcast sheet. With its distinctive nose and towering rear wing, a Superbird is unlikely to get lost in the parking lot.

Its winged Dodge counterpart is also on the Saturday docket: a 1969 Dodge Daytona, Lot S118. Mecum lists it as one of 503 produced, equipped with a 440-cubic-inch, 375-horsepower V-8 and automatic transmission. Ford fans have a Saturday headliner of their own in the 1966 Shelby GT350 Fastback, Lot S156, featuring a 289-cubic-inch, 306-horsepower V-8 and four-speed manual. These are three cars I’ll be watching when the bidding gets serious.

You can follow the auction from home, too. Mecum’s published broadcast schedule lists live Dallas/Fort Worth coverage on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 22–24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central each day. That translates to noon–6 p.m. Eastern and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Pacific. Live produced auction coverage is available on ESPN+, with a subscription required. “Mecum in the Morning” is also scheduled those three days from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Central.

For a free option, Mecum’s Live Block Cam shows the auction block throughout each auction day on its website and YouTube, without commentary or commercial breaks. “Mecum in the Morning” streams free on YouTube and Facebook, while the free Mecum TV channels on Roku and Prime Video carry auction replays and other programming. Schedules can change, so check Mecum’s latest listings before settling into your favorite chair—and join me October 17 when Dave Magers helps us get ready for the action.
