Great news if you're a Lexus ES fan like our very own Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds. The new ES is on sale now and is expected to start rolling into dealerships next month.
"I said last week on the Car Pro Radio Show that there would be a resurgence of sedans," said Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds. "The SUV craze has likely peaked, and more folks are looking at sedans again. This is one of my all-time favorites, and it was overdue for a big change, but it is finally here."
Specifically, the new all-electric ES is on sale now, the ES lineup's first EV, which comes in two trims. The single-motor Front-Wheel-Drive ES 350e and dual-motor- All-Wheel-Drive ES 500e. Both are available in Premium and Luxury trims. The 2026 ES 350e will start from $47,500 MSRP.
A hybrid variant, ES 350h, is coming soon, but there will be no gas-only powertrain.
The next generation ES is larger than the previous model - growing in width, length and height. ES also debuts two big tech upgrades for Lexus: the brand's new interface with a 14-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display as well as the brand's new Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.
Exterior design is inspired by the Lexus LF-ZC concept. L-shaped LED running lights sit above Dual LED headlights and flank a pinched surface evocative of Lexus’ spindle grille design and a prominent body shoulder line rises from behind the front wheels to meet the wraparound LED Blade taillamp with illuminated logo, visually lengthening the ES’ sleek shape. The angular, contrasting-color character line along each bodyside is another LF-ZC homage.
All-electric models get a specific, smoother front-end design a power-opening charge port door on their front passenger-side fenders. EV Luxury trin the ES350e and ES 500e Luxury trims add a soft-close feature.
Every ES comes standard with 19-inch aluminum wheels though you can option larger 21-inch wheels on the ES 350e and ES 500e. Wavelength and Copper Crest paint colors are newly available on the ES, alongside Caviar, Ultra White, Cloudburst Gray, and Iridium that were previously offered.
Inside you'll find Lexus luxury, premium materials and new tech, The all-electric premium trims include NuLuxe-Trimmed seats, embossed door panel accents, micro-geometric dashboard trim and Thematic Ambient Illumination. Electronic door latch releases are standard and include Safe Exit Assist. A new steering wheel features “L E X U S” spelled out horizontally.
Upgrade to Luxury trims for semi-aniline leather-trimmed seating and Thematic Ambient Illumination with Bamboo Layering, a new LED-backlit layered bamboo wood-trimmed door panel design, along with bamboo trim on the and center console.
Also for 2026: the ES 350e Luxury trim offers a newly available Executive package for the rear seats. If offer a a 4-way power-adjustable seat (passenger side) with a recline function and deployable ottoman, a 2-way power-adjustable seat (driver’s side), heated and ventilated outboard rear seats with a massage function, plush headrests, and a multi-zone automatic climate control system with rear-seat controls in the center armrest. You also get two additional USB-C ports.
