Distressed New 2024 Vehicle Deals

If you are looking for the best new-car end-of-year deals - you could find one with a leftover 2024 model. Apparently in addition to leftover 2025s there are some leftover 2024's still sitting around on new car lots as well, according to iSeeCars data. Its research found that certain models have over 80% leftover inventory — compared to an overall average of just 0.4% and 21.3% for new 2024 and 2025 models, respectively. iSeeCars says this creates significant negotiation opportunities for buyers seeking a year-end deal.

Highlights:

• The Dodge Hornet has the highest share (82.1%) of leftover 2024 inventory.
• The BMW i4 has the highest share (89.2%) of leftover 2025 inventory.
• Among SUVs: the Jeep Grand Cherokee (70.8%) ranks second behind the Hornet (82.1%) for leftover 2024 inventory, while the Lexus GX 550 (87.8%) leads for 2025 SUVs.
• In the EV segment, the Genesis GV60 (21.8%) ranks first for leftover inventory, while the Porsche Macan (67.8%) ranks second behind the i4 (89.2%) for 2025 models.

In its latest study, iSeeCars says it analyzed over 2.6 million new car listings to identify which models have the highest share of leftover 2024 and 2025 inventory.  

2024 Stellantis Models Are Piling Up on Dealer Lots

The list of leftover 2024 inventory is dominated by Stellantis models under the Dodge, Jeep, and Alfa Romeo nameplates.

• The Dodge Hornet Plug-in Hybrid leads the market with 82.1% of its new 2024 inventory still on dealer lots. This is a stark contrast to the industry average of 0.4% and indicates that supply for this specific compact SUV has vastly outpaced demand.

Other notable vehicles on the list include the:

• Jeep Grand Cherokee (70.8%) 
• Chevrolet Malibu (31.0%)

iSeeCars says for consumers, these high percentages of leftover inventory signal that dealers may be more willing to negotiate on price for these 23 models.
