June 27, 2025

Dear CarPro Family,

Happy Friday friends!  It is a critical 10 days coming up for those of you who want to get a new vehicle in 2025.  It is the end of June, the end of the second quarter, and coming right up, the end of the pre-tariff priced vehicles.  I give you all the info below on why this is such an important time to save money.

If you missed my interview with Fox News Channel’s Car Gal Emily Compagno, star of Outnumbered, accomplished Attorney and celebrated author, I have the audio for you in our lead story.  She was just as delightful as she seems on your TV, and you can tell she has a serious love affair with her beloved 1972 Ford Mach 1.  Also below, the latest on the tariffs, and another edition of Quick Shifts, a humorous look at happenings involving automobiles.

In just a few of the other articles below, you can get your tires and air pressure checked for free at Discount Tire, Ram ups the ante in the truck wars with a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty, and not just on half-ton trucks.  If you are familiar with Copart Auctions, based out of Dallas, they are going to have to defend themselves in a lawsuit alleging gender discrimination, and which cars are the most American?  The list may surprise you.

In car reviews, I have the 2025 Lexus TX 350 F Sport Handling.  I admitted on air last Saturday that thanks to a scheduling foul-up, Amy and I reviewed the exact same vehicle back to back.  She sure doesn’t want to review my other vehicle this week, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter passenger van.  It is HUGE, but very nice actuallyIn our third review, Amy Plemons gives brings you the 2025 Lexus GX 550.  In advice, I warn you that when it comes to cars, all sales are final. We have a lot more for you I didn’t mention, plus some great tech tips from Kim Komando, my video of the week AND Todd has an entry for video-of-the-week.

Plus, lots of other information you will likely enjoy, including my video of the week which is always one of the most clicked on items in the newsletter.  If you haven’t perused my FAQ page, please do.  There are likely multiple articles you can use, every one of them written by me.

Check the recall section to see if you may need to take action on your vehicle.  Miss a radio show?  Below we tell you how to get the podcast, and if you missed a newsletter, we tell you how to find the archive page where you can see the last 10 editions.  The incentives have gone up lately, but our Incentive Guide is always 100% up to date.

ICYMI:  Fox News' Emily Compagno Interview

If you were unable to join us last week for the interview with Emily Compagno, we have it for you here.  If you are a fan of Emily’s, I can tell you that she is just as delightful as she seems on air.  Her list of accomplishments is impressive, and as you’ll hear, she knows her cars, especially the cherished 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that she named Malosa.  It was a pleasure and an honor to have her on the Car Pro Show.

It's GO Time! The Time To Buy Is Now!

great-deals-ahead-shutterstock-1404x1112-1It's the End of the Quarter, End of the  Month and End of Pre-Tariff Prices!

It is the end of the month this coming Tuesday and the end of the second quarter of 2025 ends on Tuesday also, so this is the last weekend of both! Many of the incentives will continue until Monday July 7th to take advantage of the July 4th holiday and I would not be surprised to see incentives enhanced starting today until July 7th.  This happens most every year, but it is not guaranteed the incentives will go past June 30th.  The tariff situation makes this year very different.

Pre-tariff priced cars are running out quickly, people are flocking into dealerships to take advantage of the old prices and the aggressive incentives.

As I have been saying on the air, new car prices will go up and the amounts will be all over the board.  Automakers will need to tighten their belts, meaning cutting expenses like incentives and marketing.  I am telling you with certainty, new vehicle prices across the board will go up, no matter where that vehicle is assembled.

It’s no secret, the deals get better at month end, and when the quarter ends at the same time, it really gets good for consumers.  Automakers push the dealers for volume, and dealers do whatever it takes to make a deal.  The mindset of car dealers, including mine when I owned dealerships was: You only get a few holidays a year, we have to take advantage of that.  We’ll worry about what happens next after this.  I said that over and over again, and our dealers are saying the same thing.  If the tariffs make prices skyrocket, the dealers and the automakers will figure out how to work around those, they always do.

As I discussed on-air, used car values are going up every week as I monitor auctions, except in the case of electrics.  Your trade-in is worth much more than it was just two months ago.

I repeat:  It’s GO TIME if you are going to get a vehicle this year.  People who want to take advantage of Tax Code 179 should do it now for calendar year 2025.  Automakers may cut production, and if so, by December vehicles could be short in supply, especially work trucks and vans.

Kim Komando Tech Tips & Other Useful Info

new-kim-kommando-graphiBesides the Car Pro Show and our weekly newsletter, my other favorite radio show and newsletter is Kim Komando’s.  We're on many of the same radio stations across America.  She does for her listeners and newsletter subscribers exactly what I endeavor to do:  Give you useful information to keep you up to date on the latest in cars, only she does it with technology and there is nobody who does it better.  Not sure how she puts out a top-notch newsletter seven days a week, but she does.

Here are some things in Kim’s newsletters from this week I found for you:

  • Aflac breach gets messy: Hackers cracked into Aflac’s system using social engineering tricks, possibly swiping health data, SSNs and more. No ransomware dropped, but still, duck insurance just got real personal, in the bad way. Keep an eye on your inbox (and your identity).
  • Fake CAPTCHAs: You know those little tests that ask you to prove you’re not a robot? Scammers are planting fake ones on sketchy sites (like free movie pages) that ask you to press keys or download software. Some even redirect you to a browser extension or tell you to run a command. Plot twist: It’s malware.
  • Check your privacy settings: Social media apps update often, and sometimes your preferences change without you noticing. Review who can see your posts, who can tag you and what info is public. Most apps have this under Profile (or the three line Menu) > Settings Privacy.
  • $32,000 That’s the life savings scammers stole from a schoolteacher in North Texas. They called pretending to be Chase Bank, saying his account was compromised and he needed to move his money to a “secure” one. It was all fake. The worst part? Chase only refunded about $2,000 since he wasn’t covered by fraud protection.
  • Next-gen CarPlay is here: CarPlay Ultra now takes over every screen in your car, not just the dashboard. It can handle things like the speedometer, climate control and fuel gauge, while still showing your iPhone’s maps and media. The catch? It’s only on Aston Martins for now, but more brands are coming.
  • $4 million What MrBeast just dropped on a single YouTube video. That’s a full Hollywood film budget, minus the red carpet and plus way more slime. He spent over a year on it, with 171 days of filming and 11,000 hours of footage. The video is scheduled to drop on Saturday.

My Must-See Video Of The Week!

As a boater myself, I’ve seen a lot of mayhem occur at boat ramps.  I can tell in the first 30-seconds if a boater is new to launching a boat.  Generally, I just park and watch because odds are good, it will be a show.  In this 4-minute video, you’ll see some good examples of bonehead boaters.  Just because you have a boat, doesn’t mean you should use it.

NEW! Todd's Video of the Week!

Yes, Todd finally got me a video of the week!  Be nice and watch it so he doesn’t get his feelings hurt.  For his first entry, he chose a 2-minute clip from one of his favorite short-lived shows, Police Squad. It’s from the same team that did the “Airplane” movies…and later did the "Naked Gun" movies based on this character from Leslie Nielsen.
