Sometimes you wonder how a vehicle could ever look any more stunning, then a new edition arrives, and you realize it can. Introducing the new for 2027 Genesis GV70 Prestige Graphite. A new top-of-the-range addition to the 2027 GV70 lineup.
Interestingly, there is big news to share when it comes to GV70 production. The GV70 is no longer being built in the USA. According to news reports, Hyundai has recently shifted production from Alabama back to Korea so the Hyundai brand could build more of its vehicles at the U.S. plant. An interesting decision considering the GV70 is the best-selling Genesis model in the U.S.
The GV70's Prestige Graphite trim is new for 2027. Genesis also ditches rear-end powertrain badging for a cleaner look. Other updates noted by Genesis include replacing an elastic cargo net with a rubberband-type Cargo cover, and a wireless phone charger becomes standard on all trims.
The Prestige Graphite GV70 looks amazing in new-to-the-GV70 Bering Blue that contrasts with dark chrome and gloss black exterior accents. 21” dark metallic glossy alloy wheels with black mirror caps feature sporty stripes inspired by Genesis' signature two line Micro Lens Array headlights. It's a cool detail you don't expect. Red brake calipers really pop.
Other exterior features include LED lighting, dual power folding, heated mirrors with Genesis logo approach lights and standard dual exhaust.
Performance
A 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive delivers 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. Both of which deliver exceptional driving dymamics. The 3.5T GV70 is also equipped with electronically controlled suspension with road preview and a limited slip differential.
Interior
For someone who typically prefers a lighter interior, I always make an exception for Genesis' Ultramarine cabin. Wow, does it look amazing. The Prestige Graphite features exquisite Nappa leather and suede insert seating with embossed logos on the front headrests. A 16-way power Ergo Motion driver's power seat has a side bolster and cushion extender. Both front seats are heated and ventilated.
New carbon fiber trim features a bolder pattern for a bigger visual impact. Impeccable red contrast stitching adorns the tailored dash and leather-wrapped D-cut steering wheel with paddle shifters. Red seatbelts compliment the look and add to the performance vibe. Above, a microfiber suede headliner adds even more upscale polish.
A 27-inch OLED display, which was new for 2026, includes a digital instrument cluster and multimedia/navigation display. Prestige Graphite interior features include a unique start up animation in the OLED display. Animations are incredible - as you can see from Terrain Mode here:
Genesis' multimedia system is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrates terrific maps and voice command. The 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system also sounds fantastic and the aluminum speakers on the front door panels look great too.
A roomy 60/40 split second row features heated rear seats, manual rear sunshades, coat hangers, and a center folding arm rest with cupholders.
Standard features also include ambient lighting, assist grips, locking glove compartment, four USB ports, carpeted floor mats, three zone climate, wireless phone charger, power hands-free smart liftgate, 2nd row AC power outlet, rain-sensing wipers, Genesis digital key, fingerprint recognition and head-up display.
The GV70's 3.5T powertrain delivers outstanding power and acceleration. Its lower center of gravity results in a sporty and engaging ride. Torque aids in great handling. It's a smooth ride too, thanks to an electronically controlled suspension with road preview (adaptive dampers). Drive modes include Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+, Custom. It has some light off-road credilbity as well with a additional Terrain Mode that offers Sand, Mud and Snow modes. Overall, sporty and engaging driving dynamics are a highlight of this SUV.
Safety
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are a strong-suit of all of Hyundai Motor Company's brands- Genesis no exception.
Highway Driving Assist is a fantastic semi-autonomous driving system. Other Advance Safety tech includes Forward Collision-Avoidance, Assist Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Attention Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance-Assist, Parking Distance Warning, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Advanced Rear Occupant Alert Blind-Spot View Monitor, Surround View Monitor.
Remote Start Parking Assist also impresses. It helps you back out of a parking spot remotely, using the key fob.
