Dear Car Pro Family,

I truly hope you’ve had a great week.  I had a ton of people tell me last week how good the newsletter was and I so appreciated that.  I’ve done my best to bring another one to you today that is just as good!  I want to start by asking you to read my closing message that I titled A Time To Come Together.  I hope you find the message to be thought-provoking and comforting at a time when many are grieving over the murder of Charlie Kirk.

Below you’ll find several legal stories that might be of interestA dealership settled a lawsuit with a Veteran who needed his service dog with him at work, I have the fallout from the Hyundai immigration bust that was all over the news, and two Sales Managers at a car dealership faced serious charges from the Federal Trade Commission.  Ram unplugs plans for the electric Ram 1500, and I explain why electric car batteries lose power over time and what to expect if you take advantage of the $7,500 Federal rebate that ends soon.

Kim Komando has some very useful information for you today, and don’t miss Kim’s Fun Quiz, the answer is at the very bottom of this newsletter. I have a whole new batch of quirky and funny Quick Shift stories for you today, and don’t forget to go shopping in the Car Pro Merch shop, lots of good stuff there.  Get caught up on the tariff news! In advice, spurred by the lawsuit State Farm lost because they were undervaluing settlements of totaled cars, I've updated my very popular article about How To Deal With An Insurance Adjuster with more information, so if you haven’t read it or it’s been a while, don’t miss this one!

Get caught up on the tariff news! In advice, spurred by the lawsuit State Farm lost because they were undervaluing settlements of totaled cars.  How to Deal With An Insurance Adjuster is below, updated with more information, so if you haven’t read it or it’s been a while, don’t miss this one!

In car reviews, I have the 2025 Ford Mach-E all-electric SUV, and I also have the 2026 Buick Envista Sport Touring SUV to show you. Amy Plemons brings you the 2025 Toyota Sienna minivan which I recommended to a caller just last week.

If you have never read my True Stories from a Former Car Dealer series, may I suggest you do so.  People have loved this for a lot of years now.  You’ll learn more about me than you probably want to know, you’ll roar with laughter at some, and you’ll likely get a tear in your eyes on others.  They are all right here, 40 of them, carefully written by yours truly.

If you haven’t perused my FAQ page, please do.  There are likely multiple articles you can use, every one of them written by me.

All of our other regular features are below including the Classic Car Contest, our radio station listings, how to connect with us on Facebook and call the show to talk directly to me, and much, much, more.

We very much appreciate you being part of the newsletter family.  Without you, there is no Car Pro Show.  Let us know how we can help you, and if you haven’t been to our website lately, check it out at CarPro.com. It changes daily.

Have a terrific week.  See you on the radio!

auto-insurance-adjuster-2025-shutterstockCarPro Advice: How To Deal With An Insurance Adjuster

After the State Farm verdict that I wrote about in last week’s newsletter, we talked a lot about insurance on last Saturday’s Car Pro Shows.  I had a number of callers wanting to see this article, so I brought back for those who haven’t seen it, and those who just need a refresher course.  I was careful on the air to point out that if you have an Insurance Agent, they are your friend, they will be your advocate, but ultimately, they cannot override the claims department.  They wish they could.  If you’ve read this article before, I have updated it with new information.

Kim Komando's Quiz and Other Info

new-kim-kommando-graphiBesides the Car Pro Show and our weekly newsletter, my other favorite radio show and newsletter is Kim Komando’s.  We're on many of the same radio stations across America.  She does for her listeners and newsletter subscribers exactly what I endeavor to do:  Give you useful information to keep you up to date on the latest in cars, only she does it with technology and there is nobody who does it better.  Not sure how she puts out a top-notch newsletter seven days a week, but she does.

Kim’s Quiz:

We’ve all been ghosted by a URL. One second you’re full of hope, the next, boom, 404: Not Found.

But “404” isn’t just a random number. There’s actually web lore behind it. Take a guess where it came from: A) Room 404 at CERN, where the first web servers lived, B) The 404th suggestion for an error name, C) Police code for “missing resource” or D) The number of times Tim Berners-Lee misplaced his keys.

Answer at the very bottom, under my closing message

From this week’s Kim Komando newsletters:

Romance scam face-off: A Florida woman thought she was chatting up a retired Army general. Nope, just scammers milking her for $60K. Deputies say one guy pocketed $30K and bought a Hyundai Kona. She got to confront him face-to-face. He swears he was “scamming the scammer.” The vehicle of choice for world-class con artists: midrange compact SUV.

$2 millionHow much the Las Vegas Sphere makes every single day. Not from concerts but from showing the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz. Between 4,000 and 5,000 fans show up multiple times a day, each paying about $200 a ticket. Execs estimate the film could top $1 billion over its run. I guess the real Emerald City is in Vegas. Btw, I saw it. I loved it!

11:37 p.m. The average bedtime for American adults. We’re clocking six hours and 40 minutes of sleep a night, well below the recommended seven to nine. People who stick to the same bedtime get 40 extra minutes of rest and spend 36% less time tossing and turning. TikTok will still be there tomorrow. Promise.

More than 80%  That was Tesla’s share of the U.S. EV market back in the day. They’re down to just 38% of sales, the lowest since 2017. Why? While other automakers pump out shiny new EVs, Tesla’s busy dreaming about robotaxis and humanoid robots. Their last “new” model was the Cybertruck in 2023.

600,000 miles  That’s how long the world’s biggest battery maker, CATL, says its new EV battery will last. For context, that’s like driving to the moon and back … then back again. Your EV will give up long before the battery does. Oh, and it also only takes 10 minutes to charge it from 10% to 80%. Wild.

The internet’s using AI to solve a murder: After the FBI released blurry photos of the person of interest in Charlie Kirk’s assassination, people fired up AI tools to “enhance” the images and get a better look at the suspect. It sounds helpful but there’s a catch. These AI tools can totally invent details, meaning the face you’re seeing might not be real at all. You can see some pics at the end of this article.

Make Netflix profiles for everyone: Netflix recommends shows based on what you watch, so don’t let cartoons mess up your rom-coms. Go to Manage Profiles > Add Profile > name it > Save. FYI: It also makes it easier to track what your kids are watching. Go back to Manage Profiles > their profile > Viewing activity.

My Must-See Video Of The Week!

In Los Angeles, just a few days ago, there was an attempted kidnapping of children that resulted in a Chevy Tahoe being stolen.  There were no children in the Tahoe, but Sheriffs pursued the suspects and used a pit maneuver to put an end to this under 5-minute chase through Los Angeles.  Good job guys!

  Todd's Video of the Week!

In another Los Angeles chase, a bystander threw a chair at an armed car theft suspect who was leading police on a dangerous, high-speed chase through the streets of Van Nuys (CA). The suspect eventually stopped, exited the car and was taken into custody by officers.

  Closing Message From Jerry Reynolds

A Time To Come Together

I touched on this during both Car Pro Shows, but the passing of Charlie Kirk leaves a void not just in political commentary, but in the larger national conversation about who we are and where we are headed. Whether you agreed with him or not, he was a sharp voice, passionate about his beliefs, and never shy about challenging others. But his death must become more than the end of a chapter—it must be the beginning of something better for our country.

We live in an era of division, where shouting has too often replaced listening, and where political labels overshadow shared humanity. If Charlie’s life taught us anything, it’s that words matter, ideas matter, and convictions matter. But perhaps the most important lesson now is that community matters more than partisanship, and unity matters more than scoring political points. His absence gives us all a chance to step back and remember that the purpose of debate is not destruction, but understanding.

Our country is at a crossroads. We can continue down the road of bitterness, each side entrenched in its own echo chamber, or we can take this moment to reflect on what truly binds us together. It is not the party we vote for, the news channel we watch, or the slogans we post on social media. It is the enduring belief in liberty, opportunity, and the promise that tomorrow can be better than today.  It’s that feeling I wrote here last week, the togetherness we felt on September 12, 2001.

Charlie was unapologetically hopeful about America’s future. He believed deeply that the United States, despite its flaws, remained a beacon of freedom and possibility. That belief must not die with him. Instead, it should be carried forward—by those who agreed with him, by those who opposed him, and by all who care about the survival of the American experiment.

Death has a way of putting things in perspective. The arguments that seemed urgent yesterday feel smaller in the shadow of loss. What endures is not the applause from a rally or the sting of a headline, but the legacy left behind. Charlie’s legacy is a reminder that every one of us has a platform, whether large or small, and a responsibility to use it in a way that builds rather than breaks.

We should honor his memory by reaching across lines we thought we couldn’t cross, by choosing empathy instead of contempt, and by treating our neighbors as fellow citizens before treating them as opponents. If we can do that, then his passing will not just be a moment of sadness but a turning point toward something better.

The hopeful future for our country is not in doubling down on anger but in daring to believe we are bigger than our differences. That hope requires courage, patience, and humility. It requires listening more than lecturing, and building bridges more than burning them.

Charlie Kirk believed in America’s potential. Now it’s up to us to believe in each other. That is how we honor him, and that is how we move forward together.

Kim Komando Answer:  A) Room 404 at CERN, where the first web servers were kept. Yep, back in the early days of the web, all the files lived in an actual room labeled “404.” When a file wasn’t there? Boom: “404 Not Found.” I bet you didn’t know that until now!
