August 12, 2022
Dear CarPro Family,
I hope your week is going great as we head to the middle of August, and the kiddos head back to school.
Many people noticed that our show and podcasts last Saturday were the same as the week before. The reason for that is I tested positive for Covid the Tuesday before and was still testing positive the day of the show and I would not put the rest of the staff in jeopardy. I am feeling much better and don’t anticipate any issues doing the show this weekend.
Today, I take on General Motors in a Car Pro Unplugged segment this week. They are making what I believe is an idiotic and potentially illegal move to keep consumers from reselling certain new GM products. I also have for you the July 2022 mid-sized SUV sales for last month, and I also tell you which states have purchased the most and fewest luxury vehicles.
Equifax has fumbled the ball AGAIN and below you can find out if it will affect your credit score. If you are in the market for a mid-sized sedan, don’t miss the story about side crash tests that were just completed, most did not fare well.
In new vehicle reviews, I give you a review of the 2022 Kia Sorento EX hybrid, a 3-row SUV. Our Amy Plemons brings you a full review of the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Autobahn Edition.
In advice, with the current shortage of vehicles, many people are considering buying out-of-state. I give you tips on how to do that, and also a warning that you may not be able to do it.
If you have subscribed to the newsletter in the past year, you’ve probably not read my True Stories from a Former Car Dealer series. Today, is #15 titled: Ignition Switches. I tell you a story from my days as the Ford National Dealer Council Chairman and how I lost my cool at Ford execs for what I considered to be a really stupid decision.
Plus, lots of other information you will enjoy! If you have never been to our FAQ page, take a minute and peruse the categories, something there will interest you for sure:
You’ll find the following stories as you scroll down the newsletter:
We so appreciate all of you who take this newsletter who take this newsletter and listen to the show every week. We know that without you, there is no CarPro Radio Show. So always let us know when we can help you. If you have not been there lately, take a look at our website, www.carpro.com, it changes all the time!
Have a terrific week. See you on the radio!
