Dear CarPro Family,

Screen Shot 2024-03-21 at 12.29.17 PMThis is a very important newsletter for you to read.  As I talked about on the air about last week, the New York Times reported that your auto insurance company may be getting information on your driving habits without your knowledge.  This is a frightening and frankly infuriating subject.  As I said on the show, I would be investigating this and report back to you.  Below you will find a Special Report on this subject, detailing how this is happening and what to do about it.  DO NOT MISS IT, and feel free to share it with friends and relatives.  We will share more information in the weeks to come as we learn more about this, so stay tuned to your newsletter.

It is just a little over a week to go before one of the best times of the year to purchase a vehicle comes to an end.  It is true:  March always brings great incentives from the factory and eager dealers, especially now with many being overstocked.  It is Truck Month for most automakers, and the deals are especially good on trucks and SUVs.  We have great dealers at CarPro.com standing by to give you a great deal.

In things you need to know, we find out that used electric vehicle prices have dropped 10 times faster than other vehicles in the past year.  I have the Kelley Blue Book best resale value list for you, and a study from J.D. Power on automotive customer service.  If that is not enough, I have the U.S. News & World Report's list of the best family cars.  We also introduce you to the stunning new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus.

Are you a Millennial (age 28-43)?  If so, you are in the group of people who engage in road rage the most according to a very comprehensive study below. I also wonder why Ford drivers rage the most?  That is in the study too.  After a series of mistakes made by Hertz, like placing an initial order for 100,000 Teslas, not surprisingly, the CEO has been replaced, although to be fair, he was not CEO when the orders were placed.  He was the CEO when additional Polestar EVs were ordered.

I have a review of the 2024 Chevy Suburban High Country Duramax diesel.  Our Amy Plemons brings you a full review of the gorgeous 2024 Audi Q7 Prestige luxury SUV.

In advice today, I remind you to summerize your car now before it gets really hot just to be safe and avoid the rush, and if you are in a position in life to get your first sports car, I give you tips on things to consider before you purchase one.

We have another True Story from a Former Car Dealer below.  This is a series of 40 stories written by me.  Some are really funny, some are incredibly sad.  I really peel back the curtain on my career highs and lows in the car business, and also share a lot of personal information.  I hope you’ll take a minute and read these each week, I truly believe you’ll enjoy them. #12 is titled:  Hawaii.  In this story, I take you back to when I was 22 years old, quit the only job I’d ever had, and started over selling cars.  I got in late on contest to go to Hawaii at my new job.  Are you betting I ended up winning or did I lose?  You can find out below.

You’ll find the following stories and more info as you scroll down the newsletter:

Screen Shot 2024-03-21 at 1.09.39 PMPlus, lots of other information you will enjoy!  If you have never been to our FAQ page, take a minute and peruse the categories, something there will interest you for sure.

We so appreciate all of you who take this newsletter and listen to the show every week.  We know that without you, there is no CarPro Radio Show.  So always let us know when we can help you. If you have not been there lately, take a look at our website, www.carpro.com, it changes all the time!

Have a terrific week.  See you on the radio!

SPECIAL REPORT: Is Your Car Spying On You?

special-report-spying-credit-canvaproIt's a hot topic I brought up on CarPro Show last weekend following a New York Times story. Could your car be providing information to your insurance company, without you realizing it? The answer is yes. I reached out to the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Mr. Thorin Klosowski, a Security and Privacy Activist. He graciously allowed me to share some of his research that tackles extremely important privacy issues. It also includes information about how to find out what info your car has on you and how to opt out of sharing it, if you can.

True Stories From A Former Car Dealer

hawaiiandthewinnerA few years ago, I started writing a series of True Stories From A Former Car Dealer.  Over 40 weeks, I wrote about experiences I had from my days as a dealership owner.  Some will make you laugh, others will make you cry.  The reaction was beyond my wildest expectations.

For our new subscribers, and for those of you who may have missed one or perhaps simply forgotten the details, we’ll bring these to you in the order they were written.

In this episode, I tell you about the time, when at 22 years-of-age, I quit my job and started all over selling cars.  I got in late on a contest to go to Hawaii, a place I’d never been.  Did I win or not?

  Sell Your Car Through GiveMeTheVin!

givemethevinlogoAs I say on the air, a car is only worth what someone is willing to write a check for, and KBB doesn't write checks. I have set up an affiliation with an online car buying service called Give MeTheVIN.com that DOES write checks - and you'll get a firm offer in under two minutes.

The process is simple:  Put your vehicle info in a www.GiveMeTheVIN.com/CarPro. That alerts them you are a listener of mine.

  Exclusive Approved Products & Services

CarPro Radio Show host Jerry Reynolds can count the number of products he's endorsed on one hand. He's had many opportunities, but after much due diligence, he usually ends up saying no.

Jerry won’t recommend a product or service unless he's tried it himself and feels good about recommending it.

    Videos of the Week

jerryhttps://youtu.be/taWMcCs1sVg?feature=shared

This week I bring you the tragic story of billionaire businesswoman Angela Chao, who died when she accidentally put her Tesla in reverse-instead of drive and backed into a lake, drowning.  Reports surfaced that Ms. Chao was under the influence of alcohol after leaving a party.  Ms. Chao was the sister-in-law of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.  In this under 3-minute video news report, you’ll also see some tips from experts on what to do and not do if you find yourself in a submerged car.
