The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the automaker must recall 5.9 million vehicles with Takata Airbag Inflators. The action comes after the NHTSA rejected the automakers petition to avoid the recall. The vehicles part of the recall involve 2007 and 2014 trucks and SUVs due to inflators at �risk of the same type of explosion after long-term exposure to high heat and humidity as other recalled Takata inflators." GM says it will comply with the order. According to Reuters, vehicles included in the recall include some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon vehicles that were built over an eight-year period. The vehicles may have been manufactured with Continental tires that were overcured. #### Remedy GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect vehicles and replace tires that have DOT number and production mold number combinations identified by Continental, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 21, 2020. The support bracket for the front drive axle halfshaft may fail. #### Remedy Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the link shaft bracket, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. Owners will receive an interim notification about the recall beginning November 30, 2020. A second letter will be mailed when parts become available. The drive shaft may fracture along the weld seam. #### Remedy Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the drive shaft label inspected and replace it as necessary, free of charge. Oil may leak from the front cylinder bank cover gasket, potentially dripping onto the alternator and causing the charging system to become inoperative. #### Remedy Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the valve cover gasket and repair it as necessary, free of charge. A loose contact between the battery ground stud and the chassis may result in various electrical faults, possibly causing a loss of electrical power or the vehicle to shut down while driving. #### Remedy Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ground stud, free of charge. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold. #### Remedy FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Atlas Cross Sport and 2021 Atlas vehicles equipped with Continental Cross Contact LX Sport tires, size 255/50 R 20 105 T. The tires may have been over cured. #### Remedy Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will inspect DOT date code and mold number on the vehicle's tires to see if they are affected, replacing them as necessary, free of charge.
