Updated 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport Makes Competition Debut At Rebelle Rally; Arrives In Dealerships

The 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport, which is making its competition debut at the 2026 Rebelle Rally this week, arrives with what Honda calls significant performance updates for the new model year. This, as the entire refreshed Passport lineup started arriving in CarPro dealerships last week.

2027 Passport TrailSport Updates

2027 TrailSport will enter the Rebelle Rally competition as the most off-road capable SUV Honda says it's ever built.  A team of Honda associates from the Honda of America Racing Team will put TrailSport to the test in the annual all-women off-road navigation event that kicks off October 8th and runs through October 17th.

TrailSport receives a completely reengineered suspension with 9.65-inches of ground clearance which is +1.38-inches over the 2026 TrailSport.  Update also mean increased suspension articulation and improved approach, departure and breakover angles. Honda says nearly 70% of the major suspension components have been redesigned, including springs, dampers, control arms, stabilizer bars and knuckles, helping make the 2027 Passport TrailSport the most off-road-capable SUV Honda has ever built.

New Features for 2027 TrailSport and TrailSport Elite 

• Completely reengineered suspension, providing 9.65 inches of ground clearance (+1.38 inches)
• Improved breakover, approach and departure angles, suspension articulation and off-road ride quality
• More pronounced fender flares front and rear
• Darker and resculpted lower front fascia
• Pair of amber LED hood scoop lights
• Available Blackout Package now lends an even more aggressive look with new black front and rear fascias, which match its black 18-inch alloy wheels and Honda badges

Passport TrailSport adds:

• TrailWatch camera system (previously exclusive TrailSport Elite)
• Heated steering wheel (previously exclusive to TrailSport Elite)

Passport Lineup

The Passport is designed at the Honda design studio in Southern California, developed at the Honda Automotive Development Center in Ohio and built at Honda Alabama Auto Plant in Lincoln, Alabama. Honda says the fourth-generation Passport is generating record sales since its introduction in early 2025.

Standard across the lineup - 3.5-liter V6 power and torque-vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel drive. Smoke Blue Pearl replaces Obsidian Blue Pearl in the color pallete.
