The first six months of 2026 confirm something we have known for years: America remains a truck country. The Ford F-Series holds the top spot with 353,320 sales, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado with 268,884. Ram pickups rank fourth with 207,616 sales, while the GMC Sierra comes in sixth. Put it all together, and four of the six best-selling vehicles in America are full-size pickups.
The Honda CR-V is the highest-ranking SUV and the top-selling vehicle that is not a pickup, finishing third with 226,114 sales. The Toyota RAV4, traditionally one of the country’s strongest sellers, sits in eighth place, while the Toyota Camry ranks fifth with 179,044 sales. That makes the Camry the highest-ranking traditional passenger car and proof that sedans are not quite ready for the endangered-species list. Bear in mind, Toyota has the new 2026 RAV4 now but production was curtailed for many months while they switched over to the new model and tested it. Watch for RAV4 to come on strong the second half of 2026, Toyota won’t give up the #1 in America SUV crown easily.
The Tesla Model Y ranks seventh with an estimated 163,454 sales, (key word ESTIMATED, they don’t report actual sales which always makes me leery) making it the only fully electric vehicle among the top 25.
Farther down the list, the Nissan Rogue holds the 10th position, followed closely by familiar names including the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Ford Explorer and Chevrolet Equinox. The Ford Maverick continues to show there is plenty of demand for a smaller, more affordable pickup, while the Ford Transit claims the final spot.
SUVs dominate the overall list, but pickups still rule the top of the chart, and the Camry continues to carry the flag for traditional cars.
