As stunning sustainable showcases go, this one is nothing short of a show stopper! I'm talking about the newly redesigned Park Place Volvo dealership in Dallas, Texas, which I recently had the opportunity to check out during a media event. What a sight to behold - both inside out.
This beacon of Scandinavian design and sustainability looks anything like a traditional dealership. It all starts with a transformed exterior. The building's new glass-wall exterior features Volvo's signature blue accent panels along with a framed-wood entrance. It's a gorgeous building.
Taking a step inside, a beautiful entry way and greeting area greets you. You feel less like you're in an auto showroom and more like you're in a modern, living space. It embodies the attributes of the Volvo brand both in its Scandinavian design along with its use of sustainable materials, something the brand is also well-known for in its vehicles along with its luxury and pioneering safety technology.
“Volvo has always represented thoughtful design, innovation, safety and an understanding of how people live,” said Donny Lambrecht, General Manager of Park Place Volvo. “This redesigned showroom gives our clients a space that feels open, welcoming and true to the Volvo brand, while allowing our team to deliver the personal attention Park Place is known for in Dallas.”
The showroom's sustainable features include LED lighting used to illuminate the vehicles on the showroom floor, environmentally friendly paint coatings, beautiful and durable sustainable carpets made out of fully-recycled content containing low volatile organic compounds that are free of any hazardous chemicals. Even the tile features high pre- and post-consumer content and 100% natural minerals.
There's a large, comfy lounge area for showroom visitors. It will also serve as a waiting room for service department customers when Park Place Volvo's new service department opens in 2027. A long table with USB and power ports will serve clients well. A quick glance at the upholstery and you'll see the Recycled Alpaca tag on a couch pillow.
Of course, Volvo's luxury vehicles, which also integrate sustainable materials, are part of the showroom experience. The brand's current lineup includes fully electric models along with plug-in hybrid options and mild hybrid vehicles.
Park Place Volvo was one of only 30 nationwide winner's of the Volvo Excellence Award in 2024 which recognizes the most committed Volvo dealerships in the nation, every year. Park Place Dealerships' says the redesigned facility continues its “Experts in Excellence” approach - an approach it defines as combining modern automotive retail design with hospitality, expertise and attention to detail.
