Lexus is introducing its first-ever all-electric three-row SUV - the 2027 Lexus TZ.  It will arrive with standard all-wheel drive and an up to 300 miles of manufacturer-estimated range depending on the trim. The TZ will also launch the new Lexus Interface system and come equipped with Lexus' latest safety system, Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.

The TZ's exterior features semi-flush door handles, a sloping roofline, and aluminum roof rails. It rides on either 20- or 22-inch wheels. The lineup will offer an  all-new Shaded Ive exterior hue.

Lexus says it designed the new TZ using its Driving Lounge Concept which balances lounge-like comfort with Lexus’ signature driving enjoyment. Inside the spacious, bespoke-style interior, designers incorporate sustainable materials like forged bamboo surfaces, bio-based ultra suede, and recycled aluminum. It's plenty luxurious, too, with first-ever power ottomans available for both the front passenger and second row seats. Lexus says it also used an adhesive-free seat assembly structures reduces the environmental impact.

Slim front seats are designed and crafted for comfort. The front passenger and second-row seats offer ventilation and power ottomans (a Lexus SUV first). The third-row seats provide sofa-like cushioning. Access to the third row is eased by flush seat rails and a walk-in button on second-row seats, which Lexus says allows  smooth entry even with child seats installed.

Other cabin features include a slim instrument panel, second-row captain's chairs and an expansive panoramic sunroof. Lexus also promises the quietest cabin in its SUV lineup thanks to sound-absorbing materials, vibration frequency offsetting design elements, and aerodynamic mirrors to minimize wind noise.

Lexus says its new Interface will feature crisp graphics, an intuitive user interface, enhanced computing power, and AT&T 5G connectivity. Available entertainment options include SiriusXM with 360L, Integrated Streaming with Spotify, and included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. New features include customizable widgets on the home screen, improved “Hey Lexus” Voice Assistant, full-screen navigation on the digital gauge cluster,  EV Charge Management functions to support seamless electric driving and a new Drive Recorder that records external camera footage.

Convenience features include one-touch folding for second and third rows, and doors feature an easy-closer function for safe, quiet operation.

In terms of charging, the TZ will feature a Lexus-first 2-in-1 charging port. It places AC and DC connectors side-by-side with a compact motorized sliding cover for convenient charging in tight spaces. The U.S. model features the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.

Lexus expects the 2027 TZ to go on sale at the end of 2026. For more details, click here.
