Toyota is introducing a new SUV to its lineup: the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia, a hybrid-only crossover SUV based on its flagship Crown sedan.  At the same time, it's discontinuing the mid-sized two-row Venza after the 2024 model year.

## 2025 Toyota Crown Signia

Toyota recently reintroduced the Crown nameplate in the U.S. market after a 51-year hiatus.  The  2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV crossover is available in two grades: XLE and Limited.    Both grades are exclusively hybrids with standard all-wheel drive. The hybrid powertrain, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, delivers 243-horsepower and a preliminary manufacturer-estimated 36 combined MPG. Toyota cites a towing capacity of 2,700 pounds.

#### Exterior

Exterior features include a monochromatic grille and flowing roofline. The Limited rides on 21-inch dark gray metallic colored alloy wheels, while the XLE is equipped with black-accented 19-inch multi-spoke machine finished two tone alloy wheels. There are five exterior paint options to choose from:  Storm Cloud, Finish Line Red, Oxygen White, Black, and Bronze Age.

#### Interior

Inside the cabin, you'll find soft-touch materials, available leather-trimmed seating, elegant finishing touches like bronze-finished trim and color-matched, soft-touch panels on the doors and dashboard along with a center console with a vertical wireless charger and storage.  Both grades offer either Saddle or Tan or Black interiors.

The Limited grade features leather-trimmed seats with double stitching, quilting, and fillet piping. The XLE’s is equipped with a combination of fabric and SofTex-trimmed seats. Both driver and passenger seats are 8-way power. Three-level heated and ventilated seats are available. A panoramic glass roof is optional on the Limited trim.

Rear seat passengers get their own air vents, two cup holders, a rear bottle holder and two USB C ports as standard.

60/40 second row folds flat with an extension panel, which provides a cargo space that is six-and-a-half feet long.  Cargo features include a tonneau cover and aluminum scuff plate. There is also a rear power liftgate and a rear seat release.

#### Technology

Toyota's new 12.3-inch Auto Multimedia touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard across the lineup. The XLE grade has a  6-speaker sound system, and the Limited grade enjoys an 11-speaker JBL Premium audio system.

The Limited grade has Digital Key capability, which enables a smartphone to be used instead of a physical key (Remote Connect trial or subscription required).

#### Safety

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and features:

- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Proactive Driving Assist

The Crown Signia also has additional features such as Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Assist

An Advanced Technology package available on the Limited grade adds goodies like Panoramic View Monitor, Traffic Jam Assist, Front-Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist. The Limited also comes equipped with a Smart Key System that works on all four doors plus the rear liftgate. (The XLE has a 2-door Smart Key.)

#### Availability

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia will be built in Aichi, Japan.  It's expected to arrive in the Summer of 2024.
