Keeping Your Vehicle Ready For Emergencies

Each week, our veteran radio news journalist, Laura Reynolds, brings interviews with top auto industry execs to CarPro. You can hear her latest Auto News shorts right here. In a hurry? Then you'll love these 1-2 minute interview segments.

    Segment Transcript

Laura Reynolds: "Trina Sheets with the National Emergency Management office says you need to keep your vehicle ready all year round so you’re prepared for any disasters headed your way."

Trina Sheets: "Know your evacuation zone and your routes so should you have to leave your home you can get there safely and quickly. And then lastly, make an emergency kit for your home or one that can be thrown in the trunk of your car if you do have to evacuate or leave the premises. And that's just simply, snacks, some bottled water, a first aid kit, any medications that you might take on a regular basis, you know, batteries, those things that are going to get you through the event and in the immediate aftermath of it. Ao it's a list, but we can work on those things a little at a time. "

Laura: "Trina says it’s great to help your elderly neighbors build their kits too or to offer to shop with them. With today’s Auto News, I’m Laura Reynolds."
