Ford will be returning to Formula 1 racing in 2026. Ford is teaming up with Red Bull Powertrains to develop the next-gen hybrid power unit to be used in the 2026 Formula 1 season thru the 2030 season. The power unit is part of the new technical regulations and includes a 350 kilowatt electric motor and a new combustion engine able to completely accept fully sustainable fuels. executive chair Bill Ford says quote, “This is the start of a thrilling new chapter in Ford’s motorsports story that began when my great-grandfather won a race that helped launch our company. Ford, alongside world champions, Oracle Red Bull Racing, is returning to the pinnacle of the sport, bringing Ford’s long tradition of innovation, sustainability and electrification to one of the world’s most visible stages.” End quote.
