Dear Car Pro Family,
I truly hope all you Dad’s had an outstanding day last Sunday! Here we are again, the end of the month and the end of the second quarter. This is one of those times when those in the market for a new car OR maybe anytime in the next few months need to consider doing something now. It is prime bargain time for people shopping for new wheels, especially those with a trade-in.
If you are anywhere near the DFW area, I'd love to meet you! We'll be at the beautiful Five Star Ford of Dallas tomorrow from 9 AM to 2 PM doing a live remote to benefit Feed the City, a terrific charity whose mission is to make meals for people in need. Michelle Rodriguez from 96.3 KSCS will be with us part of the time, and WBAP promotions will be there 9-11 with freebies! At 9:35 Central and 12:35 Central, we'll talk to NBA Legend Jason Kidd, he's become quite a fan of FS Performance pickups. If you haven't been to Five Star Dallas, it is a sight to see. There will be a real NASCAR truck on display, you can grab something from the Eatzi's in their showroom, or sit down to watch a movie in the theater. Come say hi! More info below and click the link to the Google map to get to 8900 President George Bush Turnpike @Independence.
We’re packed with information for you today, stuff you can truly use. I have a special report on hybrids, everything you need to know. Some people are leery of them still, so if you are one of those, don’t miss it below. Also, I’ve written a lot about you being spied on by your car. The next privacy concern to worry about is license plate readers. Chevy is redoing the 2027 Silverado, including new engines, and I tell you below what we know so far, just the facts!
Gas prices are coming down it appears, but I tell you when the best time to fill up is. Remember the Jeff Bezos-backed super inexpensive pickups called Slate we’ve been hearing about? Looks like those are about to become a reality, and is your car one of the 10 most likely to have the catalytic converter stolen? Check the list below.
SACRAMENTO PROGRAMMING NOTE: Due to the FIFA World Cup, we will not be on KSTE as usual. They are moving us over to KFBK 93.1 FM & 1530 AM at 11 AM tomorrow, Pacific time. We will be there tomorrow, July 4th, and July 11th. We will return to our 10 AM time on KSTE on July 18th. Remember too, you can always click LISTEN LIVE at CarPro.com from 9-Noon Pacific, and our podcast is up there also by 12:30 Pacific.
True Story #19 is at the bottom of this publication, and it is called Lifts. You know, those things in the service department that raise cars so technicians can work on them? I’ve had my share of experience with them and it’s not always a happy ending.
For this week’s car reviews, I have a review of the 2026 Chevy Equinox ACTIV (can I have an E, Pat?) and it’s a really great compact SUV. Amy Plemons brings you a full review of the sporty 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec.
Kim Komando’s quiz and a bunch of other tech items you can use are here as usual. In advice this week, I tell you why more cars are being totaled than ever before, surprising a lot of people. I’ve also got some great stories for this week’s Quick Shifts, and Suits & Settlements. My closing message today is titled: There Are No Dumb Questions, something I truly believe especially when it comes to cars.
If you haven’t perused my FAQ page, please do. There are likely multiple articles you can use, every one of them written by me, AND NEW ONES being added every week, so don’t miss out, look at all the stories all the way to the bottom.
Check the recall section to see if you may need to take action on your vehicle. Miss a radio show? Below we tell you how to get the podcast, and if you missed a newsletter, we tell you how to find the archive page where you can see the last 10 editions. The incentives have gone up lately, but our Incentive Guide is always 100% up to date.
All of our other regular features are below including the Classic Car Contest, the radio stations we are on, how to call the show to talk directly to me, and much, much, more.
We very much appreciate you being part of the newsletter family. Without you, there is no Car Pro Show. Let us know how we can help you, and if you haven’t been to our website lately, check it out at CarPro.com. It changes daily.
Have a terrific week. See you on the radio!
