A Mopar Lover’s Paradise – a Celebration of Everything Mopar

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals: July 9 - 11, 2010 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds

Monday, July 05, 2010

The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, July 9-11, will be a Mopar lover’s paradise with attendees converging on the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds from all over the world for one of the largest all-Chrysler events in the world. This weekend-long event crosses all eras of the Chrysler brand, from classic to muscle and everything in between. Over 2,200 cars are expected to blanket the Carlisle Showfield.

Many of the 2,200 cars at the Chrysler Nationals will be taking part in special displays and reunions. One of the special reunions will be the AAR ‘Cuda & Challenger T/A Reunion. Purpose-built for the Trans Am series in 1970, the AAR and T/A are two of the most coveted E-Bodies with enthusiasts today. 2010 will mark the fourth year that Carlisle will transform Building G, located at Gate 1, into the retro dealership, this year housing 1970 Mopars.

In addition to the special displays and reunions, industry guests and celebrities will be in attendance at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. James Best, better known as Rosco P. Coltrane in the long-running TV series The Dukes of Hazzard; Lou Santiago, host of the Discovery Channel’s Ultimate Car Build Off; Tom Coddington, former Chrysler Executive and Engineer; and many others will be on hand signing autographs and meeting fans throughout the weekend.

The Mopar Top Eliminator Program comes to the Chrysler Nationals in 2010. Car show participants at this year’s Chrysler Nationals event will have an opportunity to be chosen as the third of six winners in the 2010 Mopar Top Eliminator Program and to have their vehicle displayed in the Mopar Alley at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This program recognizes diehard and loyal Mopar owners who are true ambassadors of the brand and exhibit their passion and skills in modifying or preserving a piece of Mopar muscle car heritage. The winner will be selected by a panel of Mopar factory representatives and announced on Sunday, July 11. The winning vehicle will be displayed at Mopar’s expense at the 2010 SEMA Show while the winning owner will receive up to six show credentials.

Carlisle is also teaming up with Mopar Muscle magazine and Muscle Motors to give away a 408-cubic inch, small-block Stroker engine pushing 439 horsepower and 493.9 ft/lb of torque on Sunday afternoon at 3PM. This year’s Chrysler car giveaway will be a convertible 1965 Plymouth Valiant. One lucky attendee will be announced as the winner of the giveaway Valiant at 5 P.M. on Saturday night, before the famous Carlisle Burnout and Ms. Carlisle Chrysler Nationals Beauty Contests.

The weekend will also be filled with activities for the entire Mopar loving family with Kids at Carlisle and Women’s Oasis activities happening throughout the weekend.
